I've done a couple of bets now but it still makes me very nervous! Anyway Coral have given me two £50 free bets. This is a big amount for me because I haven't got a lot for the liability. I was going to use them on different bets instead of both at the same time. Any advice before I take the plunge?

What precisely are you worried about? For example you could do Ajax to beat Man utd (admittedly slightly low odds for a free bet) or Draw/draw half-time/full-time in the same match.
Post some examples and we might be able to help...

I triple check everything before I lay. Go to a quiet room, no distractions and have your exchange, the bookie, odds matcher and calc open. Place the back bet and then carefully examine that you have typed in the right lay on the exchance and that the liability matches what the calc says. You'll be good to go after that, it's just a case of trying to relax about it.

Think I'm getting better. The only thing that scares me is quite often the liability amount is all I have in the bank to live on so if I went wrong and lost it I'd be in a bit of trouble. In the end I put one £50 bet on the Man Utd match and the other on the boxing last night. ;)

If you want to give MBing a good go I would seriously suggest that you get another bank account solely for MBing.

Have you not set aside a pot purely for starting out? Having money tied up in exchanges and sportsbook that you're also trying to live on will become impossible as your profit is constantly being turned over and you don't 'see' a lot of it for the first few months.

Plus a lot of the more involved signs up have wagering requirements and your funds will be locked in for some time until you complete wagering or lose it all in to the exchange.

I'd suggest if you can't afford to have all that money tied up just to slow down on the offers too, have a smaller bank and do less offers while waiting for money to return to you.

I wouldn't suggest ever tying up ALL your money x

Thanks for the advice. I've just applied for a natwest account to use for mb. The main problem I'm having is my lack of photo ID. Because I haven't got a driving licence or passport I struggle to verify my accounts.

Can you not just apply for a provisional driving licence ?

Every bookie who has requested ID from me has been fine with a provisional license. I don't have a passport and all has been good :)
