We joined up a few months ago and have 2 two VERY LARGE shops there since. Yesterdays one was over £200 which I know seems like quite a lot of money 'up front' for your monthly shop but the savings you can have are insane.

Highlights from yesterday included

72 cans of Pepsi Diet/Max/Cherry/Ginger/7up/Fanta etc. for £12. (Pallets of 24 x 3)
40 bottles of water for £2.79
54 Velvet toilet rolls for £11
40 Kitchen Rolls for £9
1lt of Bells Whisky for £9
10 HUGE chicken breasts for £10
8 boneless cod slices £9
7 turkey breasts £8

Here is some of yesterdays haul

The wife bought that GIANT bear as well lol

Oh and for myself I got this for £8
kzY0rx6.jpg

It's HUGE and since I only eat chocolate one a week I've put handfuls into sandwich bags in the fridge should should now last me MONTHS!!!

All this means now that when we do our weekly online tesco shop it is half the amount that we would usually spend each week, if not more!!

Kinda wish we had been going to Costco much sooner really!

We're 'lapsed' members. Seriously thinking of rejoining soon. Absolutely agree re. bargains to be had. We've saved a fortune on laundry products, pet food, dishwasher tablets etc. Our local one has a fabulous butchers section. The steak is the best. Excellent bakery for bespoke birthday cakes too. I can easily spend hours travelling up and down the aisles with one of those enormous carts!

oh man the dishwasher and laundry products we are STILL going through from the last visit back in June!!

Aye, the meat section is ace at ours as well, we're also getting a petrol station as well so will be interesting to see how they price petrol there.

I joined years ago when I was running a cake business and didn't save a thing. We paid £60 to join too. I think we went once, the prices weren't much of a saving so we never went again. I tried to convince Aaron that we should join again as we now live closer to ours but he's having none of it due to our previous experience.

£60????????

Yup! This was about 5-6 years ago though. We came out with a huge jar of pickles (for the kid) and some olives I think - nothing baking wise was any cheaper than the supermarket and that was the reason we joined.

Sod the baking goods, it's all about the household items (and the giant bear it seems!)

It's only £20 odd to join now and you would save a bundle in toilet rolls and really isn't that owning a house is all about!

I LOVE Costco..... I've never actually done a price comparison but the quality of chicken/beef/lamb is just so much better compared to the supermarket crap that I just wouldn't go anywhere else for fresh meat.... and where else can you go and come back with 24 muffins, an outside clothes rotary, a Dyson hoover, a diamond ring and 4 new tyres for crying out loud!!! :D

The quality of the meats are amazing!

I've never seen such large chicken breasts as you get in that pack of 10, they are all HUGE!

Costco is a must for saving money. Simple things like buying a massive pack of beans, sweetcorn etc can last a few months.
As above the meat savings are fantastic as well - our freezer 2 months ago was full of chicken, pork and gamoon and it's only just started to run low now.

Also the chicken bakes are to die for!

This is where I feel fortunate in that the husband works for a cash and carry, so we can shop at his work with no sign up cost. Obviously, there are some things you can't get there that you'd only get at costco, but it's still pretty good.

As an aside, when costco came to my old work they pointed out that the "couple" who join don't need to share an address... with a nudge and a wink. A fair few people signed up with their "work wives".

Well we are nearly at the end of the month since we last visited

All the meats are nearly gone apart from fish I think

I still have over 40 cans of Pepsi Max left!

Tub of Dishwasher tablets
Tub of washing tablets
30 odd kitchen rolls
another 30 odd loo rolls
BOXES of cereal bars left even though I've been taking a bar to work mon-fri

Our weekly tesco shop has been around £40-£42 a week so everything has worked our very very well!
