Hi All,

Just done my first mystery shop - not going to get rich as only reimbursed the meal, but really enjoyed it! I would definitely do it again, just got to keep my eye out for more assignments!

Ive got my first shopping job booked for next week - booked two on the same day, one a shop visit then a pub food visit at tea time. There is such a lot to remember on some of these assignments though! Ive chosen two fairly easy ones that dont pay much just til I get the hang of it

Yes I totally agree - there is loads to remember. Are you going with someone, as it helped to have someone with me to remember more details. I went for a carvery.

I didn't do it for the earnings really...did it for a free meal :) I'm easily pleased!

When you can have notes in your bag - I am assuming you are both women from your user names. With meals I check them and make notes of my own when I go to the toilet and with clothes shops do the same in the changing room.

Notes app on your smarphone works as well :) People just assume you're busy texting :)

The first one I have to do alone but is relatively easy. Second one i'll take someone with me, its a pub meal - I used to work in a similar pub and always made a point of watching diners who were on their own in case they started the 'shopper behaviour'

My first mystery shop was in a Vodafone store and man I thought i had to remember EVERYTHING and was pretty nervous about it!

Looking back I should have started off with an easier 'just buy a sandwich' type one instead of 'ask about the available phone tariffs and check they mention x,y,z'

I am always surprised how few of my mystery shops are actually shops. I did a train journey last week. I take a diary or notebook with me so if I have to ask about ticket prices or something I can make it look natural to write it down. For the train I had to ask about upcomming engineering work. I also try and take several photos as they help jog my memory.

I find it difficult to switch off if I have done two or three jobs that require me to check the soap dispensers in the toilets I find myself turning into a grumpy old woman next time I need to use one.

What sites are you all using to do the mystery shopping. I love shopping and being out and about sounds perfect

I find Bare international are shockingly bad at answering emails

Red wigwam very supportive but not many jobs in my area
GFK my main earner. They require long and detailed reports but they pay well and have some prestige clients.
Mystery customer evaluations a good company to work for but not many jobs in my area.

I was surprised to find how few of my jobs were actually shop visits, so far this year I have visited a stately home, assessed a train journey and spent a lot of time ringing a bank call centre along side other jobs.
