Hi guys, I've signed up to Sweatcoin and I've found it pretty cool so far. It uses your gps and fitness tracker (iPhone, Apple Watch, Fitbit etc) and converts your outdoor steps into a digital currency. I've bought some sunglasses and a rock my run subscription with it. There are different packages the basic converts 5000 steps into 4.95 sweatcoin a day. The next package does more etc (to upgrade to higher packages you need to pay with your sweatcoins)

My referral is : https://sweatco.in/i/kevin454556

Any questions or queries give me a shout :)

Can you upload directly from Fitbit without needing GPS? Looking at the reviews, it doesn't sound like you can, although I may have got that wrong. I'm already using Bounts and Made to Move, which I can sync directly from the Fitbit dashboard data. If Sweatcoin can be used this way, I would be interested in adding this as well.

Hey Jon!

Unfortunately all steps must be outdoor steps which are verified by gps. I haven't noticed a big change in my mobile data since using it, I noticed more of drop when I started Roamler and Task360.
The step plan I'm on is shaker because I walk more than 5000 steps a day and makes sense for me as I earn more.

The step:sweatcoin conversion rate is 1000 steps : 0.95 sweatcoins

Mover : 5000 steps converted (everyone starts in this)
Shaker : 10000 steps - 4,75 sweatcoins per month (1 days worth on basic/mover level)
Quaker : 15000 steps - 20 sweatoins per month
Breaker : 20000 steps - 30 sweatcoins per month
Trouble Maker : Not out yet

Prizes rotate weekly (big prizes for 1st week new starts, so if you're doing a massive trek in a few weeks hold off, upgrade your package throughout the 1st and 2nd days and you should be able to get a great offer.

The offers& prizes are health and gym related, online health, training, music subscriptions. Fashion and food items etc. (I bought 2 pair of £65 sunglasses for 10 to cover the post and packaging). Some big prizes this week for me a Jilla Fit zip hoody is 185 sweatcoins + £14.50 + £3 pp (£58 rrp)

The big benefit I see for this is I get free stuff or discounted stuff for no lifestyle change as I'm walking already.

Ah, that's a shame. Looking at the app, it looks like my phone wouldn't be suitable anyway because it's too old. It seems that fitness apps like this are getting more and more popular, which is good for us regular walkers. Maybe they should offer shoes as prizes, as I seem to wear through them at a rate of knots lol.

I keep seeing this app get advertised more and more at the moment so it certainly seems to be picking up a good amount of steam!

Alot of my work mates now have it and some people get quite competitive. It's fun how things start, then snowball away.

Anyone use the Sweat Coin app, I registered yesterday, did 2k steps or so that it said it registered but no credits were added to my total, then today I ran a 2k run and walked a whole heap so my step count on the app is around 8k for today yet still it has not creditted me with any SweatCoins. I have messaged them about it but no answer as yet.

Do you earn much for it taking your running / walking data?

Currently they are not rewarding via Paypal but looking to in the future,
This is the blurb of a review site I saw on it -
'Roughly every 1,000 steps you take is worth 1 sweat coin. At 10k steps a day you' d be able to get a FitBit Flex (375 coins) in close to 2 months, which might turn into close to four if you're not getting credit for everything. Other prizes start at much lower price points and can be nabbed after just a few days. '

Obviously it isn't really working like that for me at the moment but that is the theory.

Think I'll take a look at this. I temd to do 25,000-30,000 steps a day between my two jobs, could be worth it.
They do restrict the amount you can earn a day, they only pay upto 20k a day currently. I used to do a job that did that kind of steppage, now I am getting fat doing 6k!

Just downloaded the app and had a read up on it. The steps have to be GPS verfified which could be a problem as I work inside buildings, I'll see what happens tomorrow when I have it on. My steps are registering while I'm in the house, so I might be in luck.

I noticed you can trick the app by shaking the phone left and right to up your steps lol

OK I've just been for an outdoor run, out of 4859 steps it has converted just 27 of those steps as sweatcoin steps. I give up.

I have to admit, I binned it too, I did all the things that support told me to and I was scoring nothing my battery was going down by the second. Shame as I liked the concept but not worth my bother!
