bit gutted had email for will hill boosts between 12noon and 1pm, realistically i need to leave the house some point during that hour to get to work lol!
Still I think i'll probably be maxed out by that point anyway

Got an email from Bet Fred saying they'll be doing a Price Boost at 10.30 and they usually do quite nice ones so hopefully that'll be a consolation hehe

Hi everyone, I'm new here, just wanted to ask a quick question.

I did one bet on Profit Accumulator a few months ago but haven't done any since. I did it on a football match. Seeing as tomorrow is the start of Cheltenham, will anyone be doing any assistance on matched betting for it? haha. Thanks guys

This might sound a really stupid question.

Bet Victor has done a Cheltenham sign up offer. Three out of the five free bets have been simple back and lay ones.

However, two of them are as follows:

"£10 free bet in Lengthen the odds" and "£10 in the Priceitup market".

I'm assuming these free bets I'm going to have to do without laying? Or is it possible to lay them?

Thank you in advance.

@Jamke

Lengthen the odds? never seen this before, I guess its to back a horse to win by x amount of lengths?
Can't see you laying this, you might be able to dutch it on another bookie but thats alot of leg work.

#price it up - its hard to lay these on football so I doubt you'd be able to lay this on horses unless you can back something on the overall festival markets, best trainer / jockey etc and lay on betfair .........

Yeah that's right, it's backing it to win by x amount of lengths.

Thanks a lot for your reply :) Thought it would be the case but just wanted to double check with someone experienced before I put them in.

Arghhh....my card has been blocked! Went to put some more into the exchange as both my football bets won at the bookies yesterday and my bank have said no. Will have to phone them in the morning. Hopefully I can get it sorted. I've rearranged my breaks already to take advantage of as many offers as possible. First time it's been blocked in 2 months of MBing so not done too badly!

Since time is of the essence in regards to Cheltenham I'm locking this pre Cheltenham thread so we can move over to the regular Matched Betting one

well, I think it's time to bring this thread back as it's nearly a year since it was started and we are less than 10 weeks until Cheltenham!!

For anyone who's started doing Matched Betting over the last 11 months the Cheltenham Racing Festival is the RICHEST MATCHED BETTING WEEK there is all year!

It is 4 days of absolutely LOADED with offers and even before there that are loads of amazing odds boosts to jump on as the bookies give out some amazing prices! It's not uncommon to make £600+ over the 4 days and I've certainly made more than that before!

My top 3 tips would be

Don't sleepwalk into the thing!
You can't just rock up on Day 1 of the festival with no racing history to your bookie accounts and expect your account to not be gubbed post-festival as it is clear you are just bonus hunting. So I would suggest in these 10 weeks before you begin to build some kind of racing profile. Jumping on ITV Races on a Saturday afternoon would be a good start!

Try and get the biggest bankroll you can!
I tend to do the Cheltenham festival with a bankroll of around £2500-£3000 because of the sheer number of offers available each day. Use this time to build up your bankroll to as much as it can possibly be!

Book the week off work if you can!
In the past, I've also booked the Cheltenham Festival off as annual leave as I don't want to miss out on all the money you can make for not a lot of time each day. Trying to keep on top of it all while you are at work is a nightmare so if you can I REALLY would book those 4 days off!

Annual leave was always suspended for that week because it is council tax billing week, but I've got a new job this year so hello Cheltenham! :D

Just to add, here's an overview of what was on offer for last year's festival:

Cheltenham festival 2018

My tips would be:

- Head to the shops - Betfred, Paddy Power and William Hill should all be useful.
- get on the each-way extra place races, and combine your liability amongst lots of horses in the same race.
- Get organised: make a plan for 7 races each day and what you need to do etc.
- Open as many accounts as your bankroll can take, as the offers can come from all sorts of bookies.

Most of all - enjoy it!

Cheltenham was amazing for me last year, was a great money generating month and only missed out on my top month ever by the World Cup in June! It's hilarious I know when all these events happen... I still now nothing about sport despite Matched Betting for over a year - haha!
