Ideally I would love a Social Media job like Customer Support, Web Chat from home, updating social media statuses, replying to messages etc.

Don't want a Sales role. I like Admin work too.

I am due to have an interview for some Market research calling from home, so awaiting on that

Regards

Dorit

Are you not doing great guns selling the weight loss body wraps on Facebook still?

I always figure someone as committed to MLM as much as yourself must stay so loyal because of the sheer amount of money they are making from it!

Well the entire site is full of everything that pays you from pounds, to hundreds to thousands a month so all the information is here!

In terms of web chat from home specifically the only thing I know of is bingo chat room roles but they are seem to be filled by people living in Malta for the obvious reason

The kind of positions you're looking for are very hard to come by and mostly given within the company itself, so to their existing staff who might need to work from home due to changes in childcare or location.

Jobs advertised outside of the company get snatched up so quickly, especially Bingo sites as more often than not they'll take on existing users or those who voluntarily work for them as chat hosts.

Most of these Social Media based jobs are teams in call centres where they'll have an online/web chat department.

Why don't you look at What Users Do or uTest?

Check out @Jon 's kit to get £1000 a month, some of it will be stuff you can do from home.

Personally, and I do advise this to everyone, is move away from MLM. Its not a big money earner, its a big time-sink.

Also, I'm not a big supporter of Match Betting (well as much as everyone else!) so I recommend avoiding that to start with.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

aye MLM is a huge timesink

All you end up doing is believing some sort of 'hype' > join facebook group of more hype > Get convinced that the way to progress is to talk endlessly about how you life is now changing for the better since selling body wraps / makeup etc > People in said facebook group then post below and agree with everything you say..

The trouble you then have is breaking out of that Facebook group mentality..

The only advice I have to add to that above - have you approached local SMEs? They probably won't be able to justify employing a Social Media specialist in-house, but are often too busy running their business to do it themselves.

If your writing and graphic skills are good enough then you could offer something like 2 posts per week on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook for £75/month. You'd need to ask them each week for any news or things that they'd like to promote, and probably write a summary of weekly activity. It'd be a nice little service for specialist shops, cafes, etc.

Perhaps look for businesses which have social media profiles but don't keep them updated.

Social media workers tend to be in-house customer service reps, as Chammy said, or more on the marketing side - with the latter you''ll be increasingly expected to have good graphic editing and video skills to complement creating posts. Pitching to businesses rather than accepting a job means that you can design the 'job' according to your particular skillset.

Perhaps widen your offering from social media admin/customer service to a virtual PA?Do you have any particular skills such as bookkeeping, or a second language?

You could try your luck on a marketplace such as Upwork or Fiverr. Or a quick Google brings up various intermediaries, such as avirtual.

And my point about approaching companies directly, rather than waiting for a job vacancy to appear somewhere, still applies.

Upwork? Reposting PPH/Fiverr? Googling 'VA jobs'? Following through with applications?

You sound pretty defeatist tbh. No-one's going to hand work to you on a plate. There are opportunities out there - you have to seek them out.

There's a book called "What color is your parachute". It's by an American author, as you can probably tell by the title, but seems relevant to you.

The short version: posting a job advert is a last resort for a recruiter. The majority of jobs are either filled in-house (through promotions, moving people around etc), or through existing acquaintances. You can't do much about the first, but to give yourself the best chance you need to get yourself known. Network the best way you can - walk into businesses, ask if you are able to help in any way. If you can't leave the house then call around, email, even contact via social media. Don't be dejected if you get knocked back - by making the approach you'll be top-of-mind when they do need to recruit.
