Yes £100-150 would be fantastic initially. But I guess it's dependant on how much time I can dedicate to it. I have just read your toolkit and it is really informative. I'm particularly interested in the matched betting. Thank you
Aye £150 you will blast through. Matched betting alone will bring ya £500+ a month for minimal time!!

Hi, I’m Abi and I’m 20. I care for my Mum full time and suffer with anxiety myself so finding a suitable job is a struggle for me. I’d love to be self-sufficient and start making my own money from home.

Hi Abi and welcome. I have anxiety as well so you're definitely not alone. I'm sure you'll find lots of good ways to make money here. It takes a few months of trial and error to find what works for you though so don't be too hard on yourself while you're still learning!

Hey everyone!

I'm Jenny and I have a website called Miss Matched Betting that is aimed at getting newbies started with matched betting.

After a few nudges from Jon over on Twitter :D, I've finally got myself onto this forum and hopefully will be able to learn a thing or two about other ways to earn money from home.

I've been matched betting for about 2 years now and initally got into it after a period of being practically housebound due to an illness (I'm much better now, don't worry! :)). I absolutely love the fact that matched betting exists and that pretty much anyone can do it and I am really enthustastic about getting other people into it, that could really use the extra income. I'm really excited about getting involved on the matched betting forums and helping everyone out!

I'll also be on the lookout for the forums that can help me out with the tech/monetisation side of my website, not sure I'm quite as tech savvy as I like to think I am :D:D, but I'm always willing to learn.

Hopefully will be speaking to you all very soon.

Jenny ;)

Hi all,

I'm Becky: I've been a lurker here until deciding I should probably get involved. :) I enjoy the process of saving money and I found this site when I was making sure I was using all the good cashback apps! I've started doing other simple tasks by recommendation from this forum (like Jobspotter) and am looking to branch out. As a few people have said, I also suffer from anxiety, so would like to do some of the missions/tasks from apps like StreetBees/BeMyEye but scared that I might look really strange doing it/be challenged by the store! :O

Anyway, hello!

Hey Becky,

Fantastic to have you on here and posting! Great to see you come out of lurker mode ;)

The anxiety around doing your first few missions is something EVERYONE has had to deal with as it's very much a fear of the unknown. Like you said about being challenged by someone in the store..

I haven't done 'task app' work for years now but I did it for about 2+ years and must have been challenged maybe twice in all that time. On both occasions, I just said I was taking photos for the girlfriend as she wasn't sure what she wanted me to buy etc.

Once you get into the swing of doing the tasks it's VERY easy money and far more than surveys or clicksites or any of that sort of stuff! And as always the more you do something the more normal it all becomes!

If you have any questions please do just ask on here, everyone on here just wants to help you earn the most amount of money as possible so take advantage of this extremely friendly community!!

Hi Jon,

Thanks so much for the kind words and advice! There's a local task near me today that just requires pictures of some displays so might give it a go. :)

don't forget when you accept the task you usually have an hour or two to actually do it!

Welcome Becky - really good to hear from you :) I used to earn up to a £1000 a month using task-based apps alone so the money is definitely there for you. The anxiety never leaves but it does start to diminish after getting some successfully completed missions :)

Thank you Andrew - that’s an aspirational goal and helps quell the anxiety a little. :)

Hi - I’m Emma. I started matched betting today after reading Jon’s posts on the More Than Toast blog - and also on Slummy Single Mummy a while back. I’m a single mum and used to work as a freelance copywriter and social media manager to work flexibly around school hours. But I got sucked back into an office job (part-time). I want to be able to work for myself again and some point in the future, so am trying to build up savings, and a variety of income streams. Last time I didn’t do that, so I want to diversity this time! I already have a blog, so affiliate income is one avenue I intend to build up. Thought I’d give the matched betting a go first, and try some of the other suggestions here later too. Have never placed online bets before and have zero interest in football or horse races but am finding it fascinating.

Have put in £75 so far, waiting for my Betred qualifying bet to give me the free bets I need take the next step...

Thanks for all the guidance Jon!
Cheers
Emma

Hi Guys,

I'm Ian. Around 5 years ago I was earning £50-£100 a month with Leapforce and a Mystery Shopper company whilst I was redundant. I enjoyed the work but found it time consuming and poorly paid for the time required. I recently tried Task360 and Field Agent but the tasks were few and far between and never seemed to come up at a time when I could do them. I work from home a few days a week so the plan is to use my non-commuting time more constructively with the hope of clearing £200-£300 per month using Matched Betting and Prolific.

Prolific has started well (£6 worth of studies in the first two days but I realise it's luck of the draw whether you are able to register for the study before it fills up the subscription limit.

I started Matched Betting on Sunday and have a profit from my first free bets in the bag (£16). The next free bets should complete on Saturday and then I'll look at the next offer as my liability on the upcoming bets is currently taking the bulk of my starting capital.

No doubt I'll be tapping people up for advice as I go along!

Thanks for setting up the site Jon.
:)
