So i signed up to tastecard roughly 3 months ago via another scammy site - 20cogs. I thought i signed up via my debit card that i usually have £10-ish in there but i was wrong... A few days ago i linked my credit card to paypal to buy a laptop, and now i get hit with a £35 charge from tastecard. I remember a while ago a tried to cancel the £1 trial but i couldn't find the option on the site, is there any way to chargeback the transaction? There's no way I'm gonna pay this off before the end of the month and i need to pay off my credit card before the end of the month otherwise I'll get raped with fees.

I'm going to assume you are at least above the age of 12 and not in high school so you probably want to stop saying things like 'raped with fees' as it's not the first time I've seen you use that term on here...

I signed up to the 3 month trial of Tastecard through 20 Cogs and then cancelled it after 1 month which was the minimum time that I had to hold it for to get the green light on 20 cogs. I emailed Tastecard at the time to ask how to cancel and they cancelled off the back of that email. Due to this I don't think they will refund as there is a way to cancel it in plenty of time but hope you get some success but they will probably refer to the T & Cs which does cover them.

But on their site it says the only way to cancel is to ring them. I honestly forgot about tastecard until i got the charge. I never once used their service and only signed up cos it's like i get paid more then £1 for spending £1 but i guess the joke's on me.

You could request a chargeback but Tastecard/your bank could legitimately say its a legitimate payment.

Its not their fault that you made the error.

I'd recommend calling taste card and see if they can cancel/refund your payment.
I tried calling them a few times but I'm always on hold for a long time.

Enjoy 50% off food at lots of great restaurants? Then it hasn’t gone to waste!

:D

It’s a bit like people who forget to lay bets or forget to claim expenses from tasks - it’s an important lesson that hopefully you only have to learn once.

Give them a call, regardless of how long it takes to get through, and appeal to them for a refund.

Otherwise, consider it a ‘not paying attention tax’. We all get them from time to time.

Alright. Thanks, but in my area, there's a pizza hut which, to be fair, pizza hut are really expensive and there is a takeaway on a busy road that has 100 takeaways on it, but the deal isn't that good on it anyway. I'll give em a call tomorrow, if i don't get cold feet. (Today i rang my bank and started stuttering when she asked me my name, she was there like "calm down, take a deep breath. Lol)

Another suggestion would be setting a goal to make £35 extra online this month. If you have until the end of the month, it's only about £1.60 per day. It's an expensive lesson that their FAQs tell you how to cancel online and so do plenty of people on Google ;)

suck it up and put it down as a mistake and enjoy your discounted food, see it as a learning curve, if you signup for offers make the effort to cancel them after the allotted time, I wouldn't say they are a SCAM either this word shouldn't be used on a whim, the taste card is actually worth it if you eat out a lot.

and see this below link as a joke :p

Doubt i can make £1.60 the way panelbase keeps screening me out and curious cat either screens Me out or there ain't any with pay good enough. Any other app recommendations? Onepulse, i hardly get paid pulses, and stopped using bulbshare.

I'd recommend Prolific Academic if you're looking for surveys. It's the only survey site I use. uTest but it takes some time to get set up so might not be good for this month. Matched betting - isn't gambling, risk free and the two trial offers alone for Profit Accumulator should cover your £35 if I remember right.

If you have one of these internet packages I can refer you for a project I'm on:
  • Virgin HFC with 100 Mbps
  • Vodafone VDSL with 38 Mbps
  • Vodafone VDSL with 76 Mbps
  • TalkTalk VDSL with 38 Mbps
  • TalkTalk VDSL with 76 Mbps
  • Sky VDSL with 38 Mbps
  • Sky VDSL with 76 Mbps
  • BT VDSL with 52 Mbps
  • BT VDSL with 76 Mbps
This wouldn't be likely to pay out by the end of the month but would probably pay enough for the £35 plus interest. It pays 40 euros initially then 7 euros a month after that. I've been on it for about 4 months.

I did the 2 starting betfred and coral ones a while ago, i don't have high speed internet, but I'll give prolific academy a try.
