Hi everyone, I'm Jo. I'm so glad I found this site! I've recently been looking at ways to make money from home as I have a long term health condition that stops me being able to do a "normal 9-5" and I've also got 2 young kids, so fitting things around them is perfect! I've already signed up to a couple of sites so can't wait to get stuck in!

Hi everyone, I'm Erin and I have just joined the site today! I have been looking for ways to make additional income in my spare time for a while now. After having our 2nd child in March 2018 we have struggled financially and found ourselves in the position where our income didn't cover our outgoings. Even after returning from maternity leave I couldn't get enough hours to pay the bills nevermind anything else. I did end up finding a new job but am still finding it difficult especially now with debts to repay.

I have been doing surveys for a while now but I would like to try different ways to make money from home. I don't have a degree or any particular 'skills' as such so I do find it difficult. I also don't have a particularly large social media following or presence. I'm always open to new ways to earn money.

I did dip my toes into matched betting late 2018 but I had to withdraw my money to cover living expenses. It is something I would like to get in to again.

My laptop is also broken beyond repair so my main priority at the moment is to try and make/save money to buy a new one as I am limited with what I can do with my smartphone. With online surveys being my only way currently of making extra money this may take a while!

After browsing this site I see a lot of sites mentioned that I am currently using as well as some I have heard of but not tried, and some I have never come across before so I hope this will be a good place to start getting some new ideas.

Hey!

I agree that your priority would be to get a working laptop as the amount of money you can then make from home expands!

Are you just earning money from your phone or something at the moment then?

I am currently employed but I work shifts so the amount of hours and the times I work can vary massively from one week to the next. Aside from this I am just completing surveys in my spare time although I'll admit I haven't been doing as many as I could recently as they can be low paid and tedious.

Another newbie here though I've been reading and lurking on this site for a while now. I was freelancing but gave that up for various reasons and then I came across matched betting. Have found matched betting can be very up and down in terms of income (depending on what you do) so I've been looking to diversify as I need more of an income than I've been getting lately.

Have downloaded various apps and signed up to Prolific and have a list of other survey sites to join. I've started a blog this week which is going to take some time and effort to get going properly (I'll post it in the review thread when it's got a bit more on it). I'm also learning about Betfair trading. Basically, anything that will allow me to continue having my freedom of not having to work in the more conventional sense. I'd say I've come to the right place ;)

I've only got as far as reading partway through 'Betfair Trading Made Simple'. If you don't currently understand matched betting then that's the place to start. I want to learn trading but whether it turns out to be for me or not is another question!

Hi everyone,

Discovered this place only yesterday. I'm not a homeworker at all. I work full time, but since 2007 I have been actively looking for ways to make extra cash. At that time I stumbled across matched betting totally by accident while looking for a carp fishing DVD. I had never placed a bet in my life, so thought it all sounded too hard and too good to be true. However, there was a guy on this certain Green coloured forum called Donglemouse who had a daily diary, and he was making £10K a year tax free. I had to look into that!!

Well it all worked out nicely and I too made £10K a year the first 5 years, but gubbings and account closures eventually caught up with me and earnings dropped to £5K a year the next 4 years, so I stopped. However after 2 years out I returned to a lesser extent and found a few new bookies to open and did some LR casino and made another £7.5K in 14 months. Again earnings are dropping right off with further gubbings and closures, so now looking to find other avenues of profit to top up the MB.

I am also hoping to retire early in just over 3 years, so a nice top up to the pension would be good. This site looks nice and friendly, so if any newbies to MB have any questions I'm happy to answer on threads on here or by PM.

Yeah, I could certainly do that. What do you think is the best way? Just a reply on here, or a separate thread? I could definitely give a newbies guide to the way I suggest beginners start off, what bank accounts to open, how to get the max money out of it, mistakes to avoid etc.

There is a match betting thread, which gets a lot of attention.
But maybe you can start your own thread and see how that goes.

Hello! I’m not really a newbie as such, I’ve been around earning money here and there for quite a few years now, probably since being pregnant back in 2010!

I lurked on The Money Shed for quite a few years when I was working full time (2011-2015/16) and earning bits on the side, then in 2016 I went self-employed and started my reselling business among other things. I’ve done surveys, web search, mystery shopping etc etc.

I kinda got blinkers on for the first year of self-employment and didn’t do anything but reselling and blogging. Then it dawned on me that opportunities change and new ways to earn money are always popping up, so became a member of The Money Shed. Struggled with my anxiety and continued to lurk however now I’m a tad more confident, so I’m pushing myself to be active! I’m still reselling, I want to do matched betting again and maybe one day will attempt to blog again ‍♀️.

I’m always more than happy to help anyone, if I know how.

As is usual on forums it can be good to have a thread where you can say Hi and talk a little about yourself.

For me.

My name is Jon. I started trying to earn money from home about 5 years ago. Originally it was just to earn a bit of spare extra cash but as time has gone on it has become a sizeable amount of my yearly income.

I started out with survey sites as I'm sure most of you did and over the years now do Text Q&A and various tasks for Field Agent and Roamler.

Hey im new here! Just trying to make some money online while im at home!

Hi, my name is Ben.

I love a good side hustle and have already seen some great ideas on here!
I currently earn side income from the following (in value per month order) -

- Matched betting with profit accumulator.
- A print on demand t-shirt store on etsy.
- Trading stocks.
- Flipping on ebay (mainly golf clubs as I know what I'm looking for)
- An Affiliate website.

I hope i can be of some assistance to people and expect to learn quite a lot!
