Something I've used for the last few months for a little pocket money is Money SMS. This is an SMS testing service. Basically they send you a text message every so often when they need to test text message deliverability for their clients, where they pay €0.02 per text message sent to your phone. Sometimes they send 2 text messages a day or sometimes they send 20 messages per day or anything in between. This is completely passive and you don't need to do anything on your end. Their minimum cash withdrawal amount is €2.00 which gets paid out within a few hours of requesting a withdrawal. You can get paid via PayPal, WebMoney, BitCoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and Skrill. I usually use Paypal and get paid wiith a few hours of my withdrawal request.

Remember: Enter my referral code 6845F048F8 to get €0.25 free when you sign up.

1. Get the app from google Play Store or their website.

In case you have trouble finding it on Google Play, here's some links:

a. their website: http://moneysmsapp.com/

b. google play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moneysms.demo&hl=en

2. Enter my referral code 6845F048F8 to get €0.25 free.

3. On average I get 2 messages per day (0.04€), but when I used to keep my internet connected all the time, I would get 3, and there were days I would get 10 messages (0.20€). Just remember, you receive 0.02 for one message received.

4. You can get paid via PayPal, WebMoney, BitCoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and Skrill. I usually use Paypal and get paid within a few hours of my withdrawal request.

Referrals and earnings:

Referral gets you 30% of your referrals cashouts. That doesn't affect your income, you would still get the same amount of money, apart from the bonus €0.25 you get in the beginning. Conclusion: referral code is also a nice way to earn money with this app.

Remember: Enter my referral code 6845F048F8 to get €0.25 free when you sign up.

Minimum cashout is €2.00 so don't expect to get paid the first day, keep your internet connection on and it will happen. If they notice that you're online all the time, you will receive more and more messages because the system sees you as someone who's a reliable user.

Hope this helps
Brian

Strange! Where does it say not available in the UK? In the app or on the download page on their site or on Google Play?

To be fair my android isn't using the latest version (4.2.2)and the app works with my phone. Not sure why it wouldn't work with an updated android phone though

But the country unavailability doesn't makes sense as I'm based in London and it's worked perfectly throughout the time I've used it.

Update on this app! I'm now using an Android 9 phone and the app works perfectly on there for anyone who is interested in this app.

Side note: I've updated the Google Play link so it should be available for everyone in the UK

Mmmm... not sure on this one.

You need to sideload the APK onto your android device as it's not approved for the Google Play store due to it's use of reading your SMS messages.

To make it clear I know nothing about this app / company beyond reading this thread and a couple of minutes on their website - so I don't mean to cast a bad light on them, however.....

Loading an app from outside the official app store and giving that app permission to read your SMS messages is a big massive Red Flag security risk.

Do I want an app that's been rejected by google to have the "ability" (even though they might not use it) to get copies of the text message security codes sent to me by the like of banks etc.?

I'll repeat I'm saying this having not done any in depth research with regards to this app, rather just highlighting the risk and leave it to you to make your own mind up.

For me I'm giving it a miss as for me the potential reward doesn't look like it's worth my time doing the due diligence on the risks involved.
