Spain down again I see today.

Not sure about this super nice weather! I've been grey skies for most of the weekend in Leeds!

No sun in Liverpool either. Our figures are over 5000 new cases today. Deaths were down on yesterday but they did say that will happen some days before going up again.

hmm

last sunday / monday the death figures went down as well

I imagine those figures will be the last to drop so like

Social Distancing = Less people reporting / thinking they have it first > Less people with confirmed cases > Less deaths

My facebook feed is full of very sanctimonious people talking about the awful idiots using London parks. I am not sure there is enough room for everyone to have six square feet of space. If I was in a tower block with a couple of young children I would need to get out for an hour. I wonder if the same people would let them build on the green belt. My son who used to teach in central London has just sent me an article about the re emergence of rickets. I see the Scotish health advisor had to apologise for visiting her second home. One rule for the rich and another for the poor.

so peak next weekend in the UK they are saying

US HMO is saying their peak is 2 weeks away

hopefully, things will turn for the better.

If the UK peak is spot on and then the results of us all staying in kicking in I think we may get back to normal in middle of May you know!

Where did you read that?

Spain and Italy seem to be contineuing their ride down the slope, New York numbers also appear to be down but that might just be a blip!

The daily death toll in Spain has dropped for a fourth consecutive day.

The number of new deaths announced by the government on Monday was 637, compared to 674 on Sunday. It's the lowest number since 24 March. New deaths hit a peak of 950 last Thursday.

The latest figures show the country also registered 4,273 new confirmed cases.

Officials believe the virus may finally be peaking in Spain, which has the second-highest death toll in the world at 13,055.

That Scottish Health Minister driving to a second home is just one of the most idiotic things I've seen, especially with how much they say to STAY AT HOME!

I can't be the only one getted seriously pissed off with the constant Stay at home message being rammed down my throat every time I turn on the TV, radio or internet. I haven't been living in a cave for the last 4 weeks, I know - Just give it a rest already.

You might be adhering to it, but unfortunately there are too many people still ignoring it. Two friends put on FB over the weekend that neighbours were having house parties - separate areas. Both these people work in the NHS - a paramedic and an A and E nurse - so I think they want as much news out there until it goes through some peoples thick heads.

Well there are many out there that don't understand the concept of stay at home, so those adverts are going to be around much longer.

Ten public transport workers die from COVID-19 in London

They all tested positive for coronavirus, London Mayor Sadiq Khan has said.

Mr Khan said they all died in the last few days, with eight being bus workers, one working for Transport for London and another working for London Underground.

Jesus wept. Two of my closest friends work for TfL and London Underground respectively. This is awful.

I know we shouldn't compare countries because every one is different, doing different testing and the data is manipulated in different ways but I am a bit concerned by Britain's percentage of deaths compared to other countries. Around 10% of confirmed cases at the moment and around 50% of people admitted to intensive care are dying.

One other point of interest. A lot more men are dying from this than women.

It really is, it will also affect those regular passengers that come across the drivers. Awful news.

I'm trying not to be alarmed by those figures, but I was working those percentages out myself earlier.

I think - hope - it's that we're only testing around 8-10% of those who have symptoms, i.e. we're only really testing those who get as far as seeking medical help. That brings it down to a mortality rate of around 1-2%. The intensive care figures are about the same as Italy, aren't they? I need to go and have another look.

I can't stand Boris or his politics, but hope he recovers quickly. Wouldn't wish this on anybody. Would be a big blow to morale for sure.

it can’t just be me that’s spending considerably LESS that I would do normally during the week!

This whole lifestyle just doesn’t give you the chance to spend and have fun!
