No harm in putting the content out and submitting to google search console so start the Ranking process! Is it bad timing right now in terms of trying to get a new site started?
My new project was related to sports betting, which has naturally taken a back seat now.
you are NEVER tied into a contract unless you take up a '2 year, 3 year' type offerI'm getting to the point where I need to think about hosting. There are so many companies out there, all offering different things. I have looked at Guru and Hostpresto but there are others that are cheaper. Does anyone have any experience with Hostinger? Or any others that anyone would recommend for a beginner? If the cheaper ones just aren't as good (slow speeds, difficult to use etc) then I would prefer to pay a bit more.
Also, a lot of the hosting companies offer great introductory offers then whack the prices up. If I were to take out a deal for a year, assuming I'm not tied into a contract after the year, how easy would it be to change providers once the year is up? I'm thinking if I can easily change then it's not too important which company I pick now.
I think I’m going to go with Hostpresto for a year, then review it. A lot of the others seem cheap but by the time you get to checkout and add on your SSL, domain name, hosting privacy thingy etc, and reduce the contract to 1 year they aren’t so cheap...@Rs20033
Do you have an idea of how much you want to spend a month / year on hosting? Does that include buying the domain(s)?
There are WordPress plugins you can use for your GDPR stuff or you could use a website like this to generate oneI think I’m going to go with Hostpresto for a year, then review it. Next question... do I have to write my own privacy policy and affiliate disclosure statement or is there anywhere you would recommend for templates? I can’t see any details on your guide (but I could have missed them).
I know plenty of bloggers who don’t even bother about getting the lights green and just churn out contentI'm getting there slowly. I need to sort out my categories, tags, and social media accounts next. I went with Hostpresto using the TMS discount code. I'm very pleased with them and would recommend.
Next question to bloggers - do you always get your Yoast traffic lights green? My SEO traffic lights are all green but I'm struggling with some of the readability ones. Most are green, but some are amber. Is it bad if I leave them amber? Will this affect SEO? I want them all to be green but don't want my posts to sound unnatural (which they will if I make the recommended changes).
Grammarly is a total game changer when it comes to blogging!I changed to Rank Math because I'd heard that Yoast contains lots of extra code that might slow my site. When I previously used yoast, it gave some really weird suggestions, although the readability section was ace. However, Grammarly is also useful to help with readability issues.
Ooh I'll have a look at Rank Math, thanks. I do like the readability section on Yoast (except for my amber traffic lights!).I changed to Rank Math because I'd heard that Yoast contains lots of extra code that might slow my site. I thought my grammar was pretty good. Then I installed Grammarly. Lucky I did!Grammarly is a total game changer when it comes to blogging!
I'm with @Jon on the readability - don't worry too much about it.I know plenty of bloggers who don’t even bother about getting the lights green and just churn out content
though it’s no harm in getting as many as you can that colour. I personally never worry about the readability one

Transition words.... that was one of the things it said to me. That and passive voice. I'm in the process of installing Rank Math as we speak so I'll see what that says.I just started writing content and Yoast keeps telling me it is very readable, but I don't have nearly enough transition words... I have decided to ignore that as when I look at my writing that seems a stupid suggestion.
