Lower than last Tuesday for infections - is the tide turning at last, the ZOE survey seems to point at it

With the news today about the Pfizer vaccine I can’t see how that can’t get approved in the next week or two for use!

Looks like the Oxford vaccine is a bit behind seeing as they are only reporting the results of their phase 2 trials today. Seems a bit underwhelming seeing as we've been told for months that they were leading the way, and ofc our government have put a lot of faith in them delivering next month. Now they are only saying the preliminary data from phase 3 "will probably be reported before Christmas".

I think what’s happening is that they are presenting all the results at once compared to the others that are announcing it and then sending the data a week or two later so I imagine they will end up at the front of the queue again

Ultimately, doesn't matter which of these vaccines are first as it all depends on production capacity and who has the ability and possibly the 'rights' to get hold of the vaccine for their population. I really hope wealthier countries don't exclude poorer nations from this process. Fingers crossed things start to happen by Christmas and we can slowly return to normal by late Spring/Summer.

The Oxford vaccine is apparently one tenth the price of the Pfizer one, so that probably explains why we have ordered much more of that. I guess if the Pfizer or Moderna ones are available in a few weeks and the Oxford one isn't they will do a limited roll-out of that before Christmas for care homes and the workers there and the rest will get it in the first quarter of 2021 via the Oxford vaccine if the results of that one work out.

Am I the only one concerned why the The Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency are tendering for an AI developer to create software to process and track adverse drug reactions?

Not really, with a UK population of 66.65 million, even a tiny % of adverse reactions will be in the hundreds of thousands of sets of data to process. An AI program will be far more efficient at doing so quickly and accurately. Millions of people will be vaccinated in a short period of time, so it makes sense.

Not remotely. 'Adverse reactions' covers sore arms, headaches, mild fevers etc. Not growing an extra head, necessarily. Every single over the counter and prescription medication you ever take will have had an ADR specialist onboard. The reason (I presume) they're looking for a software tool for the Covid vaccine(s) is because a) there are so many, and b) they need to be rolled out to most of the population on the planet. That's a lot of data to crunch very, very quickly so that the vaccine(s) can have that reassuring leaflet with them that you get with a packet of paracetamol warning you about the likelihood of various side-effects.

I wish people would stop trying to find conspiracies at every turn. It's exhausting.

Vaccination aside I'm surprised how happy the public are to just accept everything the govt say and do about corona virus and not question anything. So much of it doesn't add up. Couple it will The Great Reset planned for next year and it becomes even more worrying how much we have having our rights and freedoms taken away in the name of the Cult of Covid.

Why can't some people in the general population respect that not everyone has the same beliefs.

This virus has really divided people more than I have ever seen in my lifetime. More in your face racism, more people divided by who they support politicially and more people with different opinions ridiculing others.

1
. Now we've got some people who believe the news, media, some scientists along with some (not all) medical experts and the government have given a fair explanation about how this virus started and spread worldwide. The daily reporting of cases is accurate or close to accurate etc.... Believe the measures taken e.g. lockdowns are right and/or the only way to deal with this situation. Some believe a vaccine is going to help and get us back to a normal life in the first half of next year.

2. On the other side you have some people who believe that this was engineered, planned for years (note there is documentation written years ago about how to cause and control a worldwide pandemic by elite people), believe that the news, media and government are spreading extreme fear.
Some believe our civil and human rights are being taken away and the reasonable amount of freedom we had especially in Europe and USA is gone.

Lockdowns do not fix this problem but cripple the economy, small business, create debt our kids and grandkids will be paying off for years to come. Mental health issues are rising. People are not getting the medical care they need for other serious issues like cancer and dental care is low at the moment. People are struggling living on their savings or on benefits. Some are unsure what will happen once furlough ends.

Some believe the vaccine created is not 'the cure' or answer. It was created in record time (vaccines take over five years to produce and test), some are already questioning the ingredients, it's being pushed by a computer genius who believes in population control and some people have lived their whole lives without having a single vaccine for personal reasons. Why is this vaccine going to have a no liability clause?

I will add and some will roll their eyes. There are astrologers and psychics who talked about this years and months before this happened. One even appeared on 'This morning'. A virus from China was mentioned in a Dean Koontz book, a rap song and a simpsons episode years ago. How?

3. Then there are the people who think both sides have beliefs and opinions that are valid.

4. There also some people who are just confused and don't know what to make of this situation. An elderly lady I see sometimes when I go shopping said she doesn't know what to make of this. She survived the war and said "we knew what we were facing and knew our enemy or enemies". She has not seen her family in months and is lonely at home, with a neighbour she has to speak to over a garden wall.
She watched a video online of a War Veteran being pushed to the ground by the police and said 'This is not what we fought for'.

I would like people to realise we are not made the same, with the same mind, with the same beliefs and people have a right to choose what they want to do with their lives.

People have the right to believe in the government, their experts and what the media are saying.

People also have the right to believe that there is more to this pandemic and the response to it.
Why do those people have to be called conspiracy theorists or anti maskers or anti vaxxers?

There are some qualified doctors and nurses, journalists, scientists and even MP's who do not believe this has been handled right, do not believe in a vaccine and do not believe lockdowns are the answer. Some are wondering why people are so willing to give up their rights and freedom. This virus has such a low mortality rate, so why such extreme measures?

I'm sure the great reset was being talked about / meant to happen after the last recession back in 2010 and then nothing happened

I actually DO get not trusting the government with what they say. It's all half truths / holding back etc a lot of the time from them which can be frustrating but I don't get why the NHS / ONS etc would ever lie about what they are seeing, the data they are bringing in
