I don’t think it’s that complicated, there’s probably loads of YouTube tutorials too. If you’re going to use clipart then it could just be copying and pasting and moving stuff, changing the size, adding text etc

Ok thanks, I wasn’t sure if there was a good website or app to use for making the mock-ups but I’ll have a google and see what else I can find.

Just having a read of this after @Jon 's suggestion - very inspiring! Gives me some ideas of what I could potentially do on Etsy so I'll have to have a look into it.

Thanks for sharing this, it's so useful and you're doing amazingly by the sounds of things!

It’s absolutely crazy. About to hit £4,000 in sales so far this month. Never thought it would take off like this.
You’re going to be working from your laptop on a sunny beach on an island before you know it!!

Only just found this, what an amazing inspirational read, well done Rich. I have only just discovered Uber Eats delivery on my bicycle and was happy making minimum wage for the couple of hours I could manage on my bicycle but it's getting cold now and I have stopped. I purchased a badge making machine and have a laser printer (on the way out) but did not sell anywhere near enough to make it viable, this was on Facebook just advertising in groups. I would really like to do something similar to what you are doing as it seems to work great.

So if I'm understanding this correctly you are selling custom designed A4 printouts on Etsy?

All the best
Rob

I'm convinced and going to give this a real good shot and I'm so excited, might even be able to sell my badges and keyrings on Etsy. I have a professional badge making press and cutting machine and 100's of blanks to make badges, mirrors, bottle openers, keyrings etc. They are just sitting there in my cupboard.

Here is my Facebook page, just shows you what I have tried. :)
My Page

A bit of an outlay to get started but I have ordered the following:

Clipart 3 packs
I already have affinity designer software
Inkjet Printer, my colour laser is on its last legs and leaving marks down the page.
Glossy photo paper 200gsm
A4 Do not bend envelopes

Not sure about doing frames as I don't know what to get and how to pack them etc.

Thanks for the inspiration Rich.

Thank you.

Yes mate that’s what I’m doing.

The thing is though I’m not a designer really, my 2 welly prints are made from clipart that I paid for and I just put all the pieces together. The other print is just text is a fancy font. The football one I did make from scratch, even if I did 100% copy someone else’s haha.

I’m paying someone $300 at the minute to redesign my welly print so that it is unique and only I have the rights to the images. It really bugs me that even though the print I’m currently selling is doing amazing, it bugs me that lots of other people are using the same wellies to make prints.

Got a few ideas for more prints that I will design myself but it’s not advanced stuff.

I sold a print today for £10 and it was literally just “this is our happy place” in a fancy font and then each family member’s name written underneath in a standard font and then a plain back love heart underneath. So if anyone is reading this thinking you can’t do it then you really can. Lots of people are selling prints that just have text on them.

Yesterday’s sales were £372 and today’s are £292 so far. It’s actually ridiculous! I’ve got just over 100 pictures I need to do and to be fair I am working from like 10am till 9-10pm most days. But I’m lucky to be working at home, at least I’m not working at the bingo where I was for 10 years until recently which I absolutely hated. I feel like nobody really in my life is genuinely happy for me. My parents won’t even say well done or anything, but I’m used to it now. I’m doing it for me.
Well done. You are doing so well and should give yourself a pat on the back! I think often people are jealous when others start doing well for themselves and I am sorry that your parents have not been more supportive. I think you are right to remember that you are doing this for yourself. Keep going and long may it continue.

I tell you what's a natural pivot from that and has a HUGE audience that would just buy stuff off you without thinking

Disney stuff
Disney Parks
Disney Characters
etc.

Just be careful with copyrights and trademarks.

Don't know what Etsy is like but with Amazon, they will approve things that break copyright but then the actual company e.g. Disney will email saying that you have broken copyright and will claim all of the income you've made from their images. They can also take you to court.

Agree. If you use images or clips on YouTube, you will often, even if the rest of content is your own, get the video taken down or the money from ads is given to the company that own the clips. Some don't mind as it drives new users/listeners/viewers/buyers to them and they see it as free marketing but others are much less generous.

Think I've asked before, but @rich110991 and @robchoc, have you considered selling designs as printables?
I've recently started on Redbubble and am considering this angle.
