As someone moving stuff to Europe before Brexit comes in on 31st December this is really a massive kick in the stomach

I literally have given up. No accompanied Freight to France and we can't fly it either.

Me too - thought I'd got bloody floaters in my vision again!

On a serious note, is everyone okay? Or as okay as you can be?
As ok as can be

this year I’ve lost birthdays, events, holidays, income and in the scheme of it Christmas Day / time doesn’t really feel that bad and I suppose all you can do is make the most of it and the move on when it’s over

just want some Damn Oxford vaccine news!

Not been the best year - furloughed, then just as things seemed to be getting better, got a cancer diagnosis, had an operation that removed it all and then things start to go back to the way they were in March. Dads 90 so I probably wont be able to go back to work until we have both been vaccinated. So far I have not lost anyone so much better off than many.

Really hope you are on the mend and I hope 2021 is a better year for you.

Yep as others have mentioned as good as I can be in these circumstances. I and my family are surviving and have the luxury of being completely bored which is one up from those who are worried about jobs/finances or scared or who have lost someone. May the vaccine programme roll out smoothly and we all get to party like its Christmas on Valentine's day!

Here's hoping things are better by Easter. Just 104 days to Easter Sunday (I just asked Alexa...), by which point - even with typical government logistical planning - the top few groups of people should be vaccinated.

Scunnered by it all now. Same as you lot. We have home learning again in Scotland from January. Mentally this was such a struggle and to see my daughter withdraw more and more was awful so to go back there isn’t really what I want to do but sleeves up, crack on and cry about it once she’s gone to bed. Tier 4 is also essential work only so my husband has applied for a the next self employed grant. Grateful we can get that as I k pe so many people can’t. Shocking really.

Kids asking if we can pay the bills ok. I genuinely don’t think the government are prepared for what they are doing to young people. My son asked me this morning if he was going to die as a child because of covid.

It’s just sh@^ but everyone in the same boat just made of different material with a different number of oars I guess.

I hope that is right. I was hoping to be in a highish group due to being a teaching assistant but as I have not worked since March I dont know if I will qualify through the agency

Riding the emotional roller coaster really. Lost a family member in March (not Covid and prior to lockdown), got given redundancy notice in July but then got extended to October, spent the summer trying to do full time work with full time childcare whilst feeling very ill indeed in early days of pregnancy. One week before end of October got redundancy extended to end of Jan and today have got another permanent job with the same firm which I never thought would happen. Baby due March 2021.

Think we are def looking at a national lockdown post-Christmas (prob before new years to stop people partying!)

Peak mortality during November lockdown was 7-day rolling average of 487

7 day rolling average today is 486

There are rumours that London might go higher than tier 4, but what's left? House arrest?
