I've failed the first part - my eyes kept glazing over. I can take it again but I'm not sure I can be bothered tbh. So it may reappear if enough of the first batch walk away or fail it a second time.I got the email too..I went on it through and it seems the project is no longer on my list.
you should get a 2nd chance to pass in the next 2 weeksI've failed the first part - my eyes kept glazing over. I can take it again but I'm not sure I can be bothered tbh. So it may reappear if enough of the first batch walk away or fail it a second time.
Aye til you started on with those c*nts on a barge hahahahaAye that’s the one - earned great money off that project for 2-3 years!
Lost my whole web search evaluator career because of one query!!Aye til you started on with those c*nts on a barge hahahaha
Really??Lost my whole web search evaluator career because of one query!!
I was emailed by them last night for not doing the minimum requirements last week. I was sick one day but I guess there are no exceptions.... It's the first time I've had this from them for transcription.I recently gave up this project, as wanted to cut back, and decided to go with other work which although less lucrative was very flexible which suited me. I miss it a bit as when it's busy you can make quite a bit and once you've been doing it for a bit, some tasks become very easy plus the people on the forum were lovely. I don't miss trying to make the weekly minimums when work is less available and the monthly reviews of your work (which can lead you to be restricted or thrown off in extreme cases). Good luck to those taking the test.
Afraid so!Really??
Wow that's harsh.Afraid so!
Bad times lol
That sort of work is always on a knife edge!
I assume you mean YukonI'm on project Y*** Sounded great on paper but I'm finding it a really hard slog! Have put a lot of work into passing the exams but i just don't love it. Every week i think that's it, it's making me miserable so i'm going to bin it, but i'm loathe to give it up because it seems to be the big one that everyone wants to get into because it's long term so a good earner. What to do?
I am on the same, for the past three months. I do agree that it is a slog and sometimes I do a hour of work and feels about 8 hours. I am a lot more picky about the jobs I select now so that it's not as awful as some of the tasks just give me a headache! I have definitely preferred every other job I have done for Appen, I'll keep going though while I try and find something else that could replace that money though because as dull as it is it's good having unlimited hours and can just pick up and drop.. some weeks though I could do without the ten hours minimum!I'm on project Y*** Sounded great on paper but I'm finding it a really hard slog! I was on this for nearly two years, I am not sure how long you have been on it but once you get the hang of what they want, it does get easier. There were some tasks on there that I became so good at, I could literally do with my eyes closed but yes when those easy tasks are not there and availability is poor, making the minimum is a nightmare. I dropped it last month. I have to say not having to think about that minimum has improved my life but not my wallet, lol!I'm on project Y*** Sounded great on paper but I'm finding it a really hard slog! Started doing this about 5 days ago. Not impressed. The transcriptions are torturous, the interface you have to work within is dire and I reckon it's taking me about 4 hours to do what they consider to be an hour of work. When I wrote to them with some queries, they just said maybe I got a bad batch. But the next one was no better. Doubt I'll stick it out - not going to make either minimum hours or required accuracy. It depends on your speed. The one I'm doing now is really tough and I don't see I can get near the hourly rate. They are also very hot on accuracy. It suits my lifestyle though. The chatrooms are really helpful and spending time reading through those can help. Which one are you going for?
If the end client is the same then I wouldn't use the same email addressI've previously had a job with Lionbridge but was let go, I am really in need of something badly now, when applying for Appen as well, should you use a different email than your Lionbridge one or doesn't it matter? Even with a new email my work market account would still be the same one.
