Have you only just learned to drive? I would say it took me a good year or so before I could drive after passing without thinking about it. Even things like motorways took even longer because you end up being on them so infrequently (especially if you live in Norfolk which had NO motorways for me to practice on lol)
Nah, i passed a decade ago but didn't get a car back then. Being down south, it's always so busy and with so many poor drivers out there, but i stick to the rule book.

1) I intend to spend more of my time with those who really matter to me.
2) Make the effort to go out to events (with my loved ones) more
3) Put more efforts into setting and achieving personal goals

I think I will also like to increase my passive income but via traditional dull routes such as stocks and shares, peer to peer lending. I am still no fan of cryptocurrency or things I don't understand, I will leave that to the younger generation/braver souls :D

Well since the world got entirely turned on it's head is there any point in setting any 2021 goals? lol

For me, I want to grow Content Conga lot more. Less reliant I am on TMS for income the better imo so the more I diversity the safer I will feel!

Fitness-wise I want to carry on running. I run 3 times a week and did have plans to start doing park run but they all got shut down in April and don't seem to have returned!

Going on holiday in 2021 would also be nice!!

Anyone else got any?

In no particular order:
A). Don't get caught up in investing hype - e.g crypto, popular retail funds. This includes ditching p2p lending, never to return.
B). Figure out a plan to start a new website.
C). Make a few quid with Print On Demand and other ecommerce opportunities.
D). Make an exit strategy from office work.
E). Perhaps buy a house.

I'm not making anything specific, as I fail every year when I set them but

1) Be stronger this time next year than I am now
2) Be healthier this time next year than I am now
3) Be able to manage my time better
4) Finish my 2nd year of uni without having a nervous breakdown
Well, one out of 4 wasn't bad :ROFLMAO:

1) Finish my degree and graduate
2) Get on a masters
3) Write regular content on my nutrition platforms - this is purely a time and focus issue
4) Time management, again
5) Stronger and healthier - certainly not feeling that this year as rather than taking advantage of my time etc I've wallowed

I gave up on New Year goals a long time ago. I prefer the flexibility to tweak my plans on the go continually and dislike the thought there is a solid plan that I can only set once a year and then if I want to change it/don't meet that plan I fail.

My life isn't that straightforward! Plus I would only beat myself up if I didn't make it. My loose goals are just to be in a better position next year than I was the year before. Nice and vague :)

I don’t really do the goals thing either however a friends devastating news this summer definitely changed my outlook on life for the better. Things are just things and time is way more important than things. So I guess in 2020 I need to make the most of my time and spend it with the people I want to spend it with.
And who would have thought I would be given the gift of time in absolute bucketfuls. Not going to wish for anything in 2021! Sorry about 2020 folks. That was maybe my fault!

I also don't see the point of making New Year resolutions anymore. I do need to manage my time better, I have a bad habit of wasting time on the internet. I definitely want to cut back on this!!

I tell ya, anyone who set doing 'Dry January' as one of their targets must have well fallen off the wagon by this point!

Crikey this thread was started in 2014! That's a lot of resolutions!

Well it's that time of year again when we can make goals and then break them in the weeks that follow!

I'd like to get better at doing DIY this year! Sounds a bit strange but I just throw money at 'odds jobs men' to do anything from the worlds smallest amount of plastering to painting one side of a room. I'm sure i'd save money in the long run if I just practiced and got better at the stuff myself!

Work wise I'd like to continue growing my copywriting business and see how successful that can become!

As much as it's a cliche I'd also like to go back to a gym. Since I become full time self employed at the end of 2019 I stopped going to one and just ran 3x a week from home. I think it was because I associated going to the gym with me going to work as I used to do the former before the latter in the morning and when you then work from home all week it can be hard to make new habits that require you to change up your day a bit but change it I must!!

2 out of 5 last year (1&2) :ROFLMAO:

For 2022:

1) Get back to the gym as well as swimming - it's a confidence thing holding me back.
2) Get at least the qualifications I need (all gym based) to make a start on an exercise referral qualification - I have 6 months off from uni at Easter so hoping to fill my time with that.
3) Take part in a few fitness challenges - I'm already signed up for Swim22 in March (swimming 22 miles in 12 weeks).
4) Stop taking on more work - I have plenty.
5) Work on me and put more time into me - health, selfcare, etc.

Joining a gym is always so much connected with January isn’t it lol

I've done pretty well this year, in a better financial situation at least. I would say the big 2 for next year would be lose some weight and visit the dentist, have been putting it off for too long

I was born in 1981 and I swear dentists in the 80s/early 90s were enough to put you off for life!

No real resolutions. But I've already spent the last few days decluttering which is something I've been meaning to do for a while. Have got rid of loads of things to the charity shop, recycling and sadly the bin. Having the extra space feels very empowering!

I guess I still want to manage my time better, buy less and just try to enjoy each day as it comes. I was told a sobering thought the other day 'you probably have more life behind you than in front of you now'.

Such a popular one at this time of year. i was VERY tempted to just grab a few binbags today and go around the house clearing everything up but then thought nah i'll do it in the new year lol
