I seem to have done ok with them since I signed up a few days ago- had a couple and they were pretty different and easier to use than some of the sites

Picture the scene. 75p short of the £50 payout and I have two surveys waiting. I open the first and "Yay" it's a 50p one. That means I'm finally going to reach the threshold after just over 12 months. I plough through it, much longer than they said it was going to be and send it. I return to the home page to start the other one, only to find it's not there. The buggers have only combined the two and just paid me for one. The end result, I'm still 25p short :'(

If anyone hasn't already signed up to YouGov yet then here is my referral code:

https://yougov.co.uk/refer/1gMwKAzWXU2GiqgjBHV8eg/

They have a promotion for referrals on at the moment (I would get 400 points (£4) as opposed to 200 points after your first 6 surveys have been completed). Offer open until 3rd November :)

Had a lot of £50's off Yougov over the years but mostly from referrals, not surveys. If you only take the surveys it can easily take 6 months or more to get £50.

Hello everyone, my name is Ion and I'm glad to be here. I do have a problem though... Yesterday i downloded the YouGov app and since yesterday morning I'm still filling my profile, it takes forever. Does anyone know how long before you can take surveys? Thanks....

@Ion Cretu I haven't downloaded the app myself but use their website and surveys are sent out every so often regardless of filling in your profile. Just fill in the basic profile age etc and where you live employment details and income level that is the main thing. I don't remember having to fill in much when I first joined.
They don't send out a huge amount of surveys so it is a very slow burner but the actual surveys don't take long and are interesting.

Don't bother with those sort of questions they aren't necessary for qualifying for any of the surveys.

Hi, @Ion Cretu and welcome :) I agree with the others, just fill in the basic details. You can probably go back and update your profile in the future if you want.

I only gave limited details and said No to politics and No to newspapers (did not know what the surveys would involve before I joined).

Most of the surveys I get are full of questions about politics and what newpapers I have read o_O, ha ha

In my experience, the more questions you answer on the front page, the more surveys you get.

Also the more surveys you fill in, the more surveys you're sent! It's worth sticking with in the long run!

Pretty much everyone here has summed it up. Politics, recent events and celebrity recognition (occasionall). Used to get surveys regularly, but it has been very quiet lately.
Have had a few friends even win on the sweepstake prize draw. No such luck for me though...yet! Haha

I would imagine it pays a lot less than Mystery Shopping as, well, it's surveys isn't it ;)

You gov usually pays 50p or 25p per survey so you won't get rich. Beware the Oracle surveys which just give you a draw entry. You gov don't send out many surveys and have a minimum pay out of £50.00 so it can take a couple of years to get a pay out. (I have not managed it yet).

On the plus side the surveys are short and quite interesting and if you receive an invite you qualify and the survey stays open for some time. You won't receive any spam mail and you see them quoted quite a lot in the press so you feel someone is listening.

Hi everyone,

Got a little favour to ask.

I'm really close to my first cash out with Yougov. It's taken me years (literally) to get there. If anyone new to Yougov fancies giving them a try I would be super grateful if you could use my referral link which will give me a little boost. If I remember correctly it gives you sign up bonus points too.

Here is my link:

Big thank you to anyone who uses it! x

Reminds me of playing Tetris as a kid...you're all stacked up with one column spare, just waiting for a line to score points! Those damned lines were the bane of my childhood...

another decent site that send surveys via email is yougov.
it is mainly current affairs etc and pays points for each survey maximum 20 minutes most are shorter. Points add up to money and cash out is £50.
I have been member for 2 years and cashed out 3 times although to start I didn't do a lot of surveys.
Some people get more surveys than others I have been told but the plus side is you don't get screened out.

try the link above if you want a referral or just go to the site and join up if you prefer I get 200 points if you complete 6 surveys using my referral
thanks simon
I've been on YouGov for a couple months now and I get a survey every day. Usually, the survey lasts 8mins and is worth 50p. I'm currently at £20 worth of points but you need to wait a long time to cash out (5000points/£50) I'd recommend it if you have some spare time but it isn't going to make you much. PS my referral code ishttps://yougov.co.uk/refer/MOrqf7tiHP_uay8fuVN-QQ/
