    Question / Discussion Insurance questions

Hi, Wasn't sure where to post this. I am wondering, if you register as self employed when earning money in other ways apart from employment, are you then officially running a business from home? If so, what impact would that have on things like mortgage or home insurance? Would you need to...

    Extra Income & Tax etc.

Thanks for this. Think I found the answer to the VAT & EU part - looks like countries have thresholds as per here, so for France for example it looks like it is £35,000. So as long as earnings don't get close to those figures then should be ok, though would be a blooming miracle if any...

Thanks for all the replies regarding this. So I haven't really moved forward with building my empire, however I just happened to mention to one of my kids that you can design things like tshirts and sell them online and now they want to be the next merch millionaire . So, sorry for the...

    Bank accounts

Just wondering, if registering as self employed and then earning by reselling, or in fact earning any additional income that would be taxable, are there any recommended bank accounts to use? I presume it is best to separate this income off from salary etc? Thanks in advance for the assistance. D

    Extra Income & Tax etc.

T Thanks for this, is that £1000 separate to any tax allowance you receive from being employed? So for me for example this additional income would be on top of earnings from my job. Cheers.

    Extra Income & Tax etc.

Thanks again for the help. So, basically, register as self-employed, earn extra cash, keep aside 30%-40%, fill out tax return at end of tax year, and in a nutshell that is it? Cheers, D

    Extra Income & Tax etc.

Thanks again all. @Jon , I am being dumb, not sure what you mean when you say 'but the advantage to you is that you can select to pay any tax you over 12 months via PAYE from your main job' Sorry, what is the significance of the £1000 figure? From the above it looks like earnings from Youtube...

    Extra Income & Tax etc.

@katykicker @Jon @lilszi @homie Many thanks for the responses - looks confusing, now I know why I had stuck to matched betting up until now :) Not 100% sure of the routes I am going to go down but lets say I started earning from YouTube videos and from that earned from affiliate links and...

    YouTube Question

Hi, Probably a silly question but I am wondering, if someone has a youtube channel showing how to use a piece of software for example, do you actually have to ask whoever owns the software before doing that? Hope that makes sense? :) Thanks, D

    Extra Income & Tax etc.

Hi, Hope someone can help and apologies if I am asking the same question that has been asked 100 times. I am wondering if someone can point me in the right direction as to handle paying the tax that would be applicable to additional earnings. I currently only do matched betting which is tax...

Thanks for this. I may wait until the football season starts and then give it a whirl. Got so much going on with the World Cup that attempting Accas might just push me over the edge o_O. Cheers.

    Acca's

Thanks for this, just wondering if using the lock-in method would be better for as far as I can see it guarantees a profit, just not as much. Wondering what methods others use? Cheers.
