Hi,

I want to be able to work out how much money I will need before starting an offer, especially when a lot will be required.

For example, the Ole777 offer where you have to place ten £30 bets:
  • You will need £300 to cover the back bets
  • How do you know how much to allow for potential exchange liability?

I emailed Profit Accumulator, and here is their reply:

There is no way of telling for sure how much you will need in each account as the bets could end up winning in either one. It also depends if you are going to be placing all of the bets at once or wait until each one has settled first.

The easiest way to get an idea of how much liability you would need is to just load the calculator and type in the back stake as £250 (in your example) and then play around with the odds. This will give you an idea on how much you would need in the exchange.

I'm still a bit unsure. Can anyone here suggest a better way?

Thanks

Well that reply is correct

If you put the numbers into the calculator on the PA sites which takes about 5 seconds it will tell you how much liability you will need for each bet you place.

Thanks for replying, Jon.

What about when an offer requires you to place several bets?

In the example above, where you have to place ten £30 bets, you know up front that you will need up to £300 to cover all the back bets.

I also want to know how much to allow for potential exchange liability.

This is so I can work out the total amount of money I need before starting the offer.

Well you could

put a £10 bet into the calculator - Look at total for liability
put 2nd £10 bet into calculator - add that to your previous liability
put 3rd £10 bet into calculator - add that to the previous liability total

That's your liability total

or you could place your first £10 bet, that wins into the exchange and then when you go to do the 2nd £10 bet you need to use less money as you already have it in the exchange

It's best not to get too involved thinking about all the numbers as you can overthink things

It depends on the odds you find . So it's difficult to work out.

This offer you will need to place it on different events . So the odds will differ for each .

If you type in £300 in the calculator . It will give you a rough idea of how much you need.

Or you can find out how much one bet will cost you then times by 10 .

I'll try screen shot an example to give you an idea if you want to place all 10 bets

Thanks @Jon and @Cas

I know I'm overthinking this, and I'm getting a bit bogged down.

I need to forget about this for a while and come back with a fresh mind.

Hopefully then I'll be able to get it straight in my head.

For info your liability = (lay odds - 1) x stake

so if you had one bet of £30 at odds of 5 your liability would be (5 -1) x 30 = £120

So to do 10 bets of £30 at average odds of 5 you would need £1200

However, you don't have to have the bets all running at the same time so just do a couple at a time and wait for them to settle before doing the next couple.

Thanks guys, I've got my head round it now.

I'd had a very stressful morning, so I wasn't in the best frame of mind.
