New to Comping

First 50 comps entered with Roboform worked out quite easy (if i did it right) using the http://www.competitiondatabase.co.uk/ list I just went through and did all that was ending today. I have no idea half of the prizes lol but will see what comes in if anything I'm normally very unlucky.

I use myoffers... no luck yet though, but I've restarted doing it in the evenings so fingers crossed!

Personally, I wouldn't use MyOffers. It tends to generate a lot of spam and cold calls and no wins. Try googling MyOffers reviews and make up your own mind. Competition database are OK though

Wow that's an impressive win. Mine was just one of these fancy thousand components blender. I'm actually using it too which is a bonus

Hardly any really do I was lucky to win once. I'm hoping to up my game this year as I'll be on maternity leave and no doubt glued to my phone at 2am haha

Form filling wise, not much as google autofill is pretty good. I use it more for storing passwords, which is useful to have. Some people use Last Pass, which is supposed to be good too.

It's run by a certain expert in the field of saving money. They do have a brilliant competition section in their forum, it's how I got into comping a few ears back.

You need to be entering a quite a few if you want to win. I have a routine now. Every morning I do the magazine dailies while I have my breakfast and cuppa. Usually win at least 3 times a month with these so worth the effort. I then do ones ending the next day every evening, and as I subscribe to compers news work my way through them when I get chance. I probably enter close to 1000 a day and have never had a month without at least one win! Been doing it over 2 years now.

@maisiemog - It's really interesting to hear how many someone enters and how many roughly they win, or to hear they at least have one win per month. That definitely inspires some hope!
I think at best I was entering perhaps 100 one month (this was a long time ago though) and then after that month my effort went down to maybe 40/50 per month. Can't say that I ever really won much of anything (aside from the year's supply of Oyster sauce!) At the moment, it's just the odd couple here and there but I'm thinking of getting back in to a routine of noting what I'm entering and dedicating a set time to it each morning.

What I find concerning is that some only let you know you've won via email, at which point you're required to accept the email/confirm. Obviously, entering so many comps means 'shed' loads of junk in your comps email addy, which I try to scan but still wonder if I ever miss anything (and that's from entering no where near as many comps as regular compers do!).

I have a filter system for my email, so anything with the word 'congratulations' goes into a separate folder. I also have filters for 'survey' and 'newsletters', and some other sundry ones. Most of the time things end up in the right folders, but I always scan all the boxes just to make sure. I get thousands of emails a day, and all but a handful end up into the spam and newsletter folders. To my knowledge, I've not missed any wins yet. I also Google myself regularly to see if anything pops up. I use the search string: “my first name + my second name” winner OR won OR winners OR congratulations This also works in the search box on Facebook, providing you have the language set to English (us). For some reason it doesn't work if set to just English.

The sheer time involved to do anything over 100 shows full dedication. I just cant find the time lol between all my bits and bobs and then work too its hard I enter what I can and when I can

I don't like myoffers either, full of ads and always trying to get your details out of you. Chances of winning must be very small.

Not really, just a good routine now. MAgazine dailies in the mornings, good reads while I have a cuppa when I get in from work and then about an hour in the evenings. As chrome autofills a lot of my details it's quick. Will be worth it when I win that luxury cruise lol
