Hi guys,

Hope you’re all well and ready for the weekend!

So I’m still working my way through the sports book sign up offers, being patient as can only do 1 or 2 a day with my small bank roll. That’s fine though, I’m enjoying it and gives me time to learn as I go along. Thanks for all your support and help so far! Have done a few of the early, risk free casino offers while I wait for pending cash to withdraw from bookies.

Quick question - I’m getting loads of emails and texts from bookies with free offers, either sport or casino. Do I ignore these for now and just continue working my way through the PA sign ups? For example Ladbrokes sent a text saying “get started at casino with a free £10 bonus.” I can’t see this offer in the casino sign ups on PA so am I best to ignore or do you guys take up all the free offers that come your way?

TIA
I would ignore them for now . Just so that you get familiar with the different offers

The casino bonus offers probably have wagering attached to them and I would ignore those for now. Have a look at any sports offers you get and see if you feel comfortable doing them. For example in my early days William Hill sent me quite a lot of straightforward bet and get offers. Those can be done exactly the same way as the basic sign up offers and wont tie your money up for more than a day, so you could do those. Just place an extra 'mug' bet on football or something as well so they dont think you are only doing bonus offers all the time.

Anyone else taken advantage of the 2% Betfair exchange offer via PA on the match odds market on premier league games?

Have you not got the 2% on all sports @ BF for February offer? Didn't think this was an OM offer as it came direct from BF via a pop-up window.

Ah yes, great advice thanks! Did wonder if I should do a mug here and there if I take any of the subsequent Sports offers up - cheers!

Ugh. I just got through a 50x wagering on the slots. Never again! Why did I think that would be a good idea?

Well, aside from 'maybe I'll hit the jackpot?'...

I didn't.

A £5 no-deposit casino bonus from Betway, came in an email. I ended up £20 up so it wasn't all bad, but still...it felt like a lot of work for £20! Think I'm gonna need a slots detox before I try another one.

Heh, yep. No restrictions on that, so at least I could pick one I felt comfortable with.

So I’ve done a few more horses today; especially on the Leopardstown races as Cheltenham build up.
My thoughts are - please correct me here:
1, Extra places pay out - I bagged one of these but it seems you’d have to be lucky for using this strategy - effectively you are betting which horse will take that extra paid place for the qualifying loss.
2, Each way matching - it seems basically If you follow the tool calculators you are locking in profit if it is there as long as retirements don’t mean that all the places aren’t paid at the bookie? I find it slightly tricky to verify in smarkets but easier to see in betfair. Maybe as I’m working on an iPad doesn’t help.
3, Refunds if 2nd to sp winner, extra if winning by so many lengths, refund if a faller all seem to be relative gambles so only really worth it if low QLs?

1. With extra place, yes you're hoping to hit the extra place. I used to cover at last half the field when the bookie shops did 5 places 1/4 odds.
2. E-W bets. I think if say a 17 runner race for 5 places you need to be aware that if the field is reduced to 15 runners you're in the sticky stuff.
3. Second to SP fav - use personal judgement and minimise Q losses. Look for small field and a good favourite.

Also, try not to Arb the horses or you might get an email or two from Gubbing HQ :)

1. Yes. You are effectively betting your Q/L on the horse coming 5th, (or whatever the place offer is) An alternative is to lock in a small profit by laying the 5 place market on betfair.

2. Yes exactly. Also Smarkets place markets dont usually have as much liquidity compared to betfair.

3. Yeah, I only do these when there is nearly zero Q/l
