Monese: Physical Card costs £4.95, though using the referral code you get a £5 welcome bonus when you deposit minimum of £10. There are 2 levels of account, one free, and one that's £4.95 a month, you can also request a second account in € (or vice versa) ... can take up to 3 days for bonus to be paid, although I did have to message them to get mine, they then paid it instantly.
You can add cash to this account at the Post Office or PayPoint, as well as usual bank transfers etc
I opened this with just driving license took about 5 minutes to set up and verify.

Fidor: Card is free, this bank has a lot more going on with Crowdfunding (Seedrs) and Investment opportunities (nutmeg) and savings bonds, as well as bonus schemes like getting paid to ask a financial question (about £0.10 each) in the community forum...
... Referral bonus of 7.5% ... then if your referrals refer you get 2.5% (not sure as yet what the % is of though, think it's of the online activity, eg, community forum etc).
Verification was a little fiddly (though only took 10 minutes on live video chat) I used passport as id.
App iOS only :'(

Both of these accounts have Mastercard, as well as an account number and sort code.

Both have been tested with Paypal and work ok, and both support Faster Payments

Edited original post to add more info on fees etc.

Would be great if you guys could use my referral links and give them a go, see what you think. I'd be interested in feedback from using them for matchbetting etc as once I get my head around it I might give it a go with one of them

Fidor & Monese both seem to be working ok with Betfair & Coral ;)
Based on the fact that your bank account takes a DAILY hammering when doing Matched Betting what advantage does using one of these accounts give you over say a regular high street bank debit account?

The main advantage is that they are really easy to open should you wish to have a secondary account purely for Matched Betting that is separate from your every day account.
No credit checks, you're practically guaranteed to get one, (so especially handy if you have adverse credit) and opened in a few minutes online, you get your account numbers & sort codes straight away, and the card through the post a few days later...all from the comfort of your sofa.

Monese has another advantage of we both get money should you use my referral ;) you get £5, I get £10

The big bonus of Fidor is the money stays in your account, until accepted by the other bank. Normally the bank takes it, keeps hold of it out of your sight and the bank earns the interest on in. With Fidor, you earn the interest until the transaction is complete, you have 2 balances, account balance and available balance.

Fidor is also a community run bank, you have a say in how things go, and you earn rewards for asking questions and making suggestions.

Both support DD's and Faster Payments, as you would expect from a Current Account

There may, or may not be other advantages that could be relative to you, or not.

Would be interesting to see your thoughts too :)
