For me, It would have to include

Bus Travel to work - Since moving to Leeds I've seen the price of a city wide weekly pass go from £5.50 a week to £15!! The worst thing it's not like the buses have got massively more modern. Least not on FirstBuses!!

Hayfever Meds - Each year I am sort of forced into spending god knows how much on nose sprays, eye drops etc to avoid looking like i've been beaten up every morning!!

Petrol - When I first passed my driving test in 1998 the price of petrol was around 70p and now we sit around the £1.15/20p mark and every time I have to fill up it seems to cost more and more to fill the tank of my 1.2lt car up!!

Haircuts - I know women love getting their haircuts and can natter in the salon all day but as a bloke I just want to go in, make minimal conversation and get out of there ASAP and I seem to be paying more for that privilege I seem to be paying more each year for what has essentially been the same haircut for the last 8 or so years!! The place I use at the moment is £13.50 for a mens cut which is quite a jump from paying £8 odd a few years back.

Gyms - Anyone that follows me on social media knows I'm a big fan fitness but man alive do I pay through the nose for it. £41 for my membership and all I do is classes. I don't use the gym, swimming pool, spa or sauna and I sometimes just think I'm an idiot paying that much to use 1/3rd of the facilities!!

Hey - don't tar everyone with the same brush! I also want to get in and out as quickly as possible. I don't want to have to make small talk with someone I don't know and have nothing in common with.

Mine are less things I hate spending on per se, but things which I just think are very expensive...
1. Electricity - just goes up and up..
2. Petrol - expensive and I work far away
3. Childcare - it's more expensive than my mortgage!

I do not like spending money on:
1. Phone Line Rental - Never use it to make or receive calls so just a waste when only having to pay for it to get broadband.
2. Haircuts - Just a chore have to sit there the hair stylist wants you to chat and being forced to listen to the radio music for half an hour when I like peace and quiet.

I barely want to admit it to myself, but unfortunately I live in the most expensive area for childcare... London prices, but I am not in London. It is about £1,300 a month *sobs*

My daughter works in a cafe and has 2 children. She actually earns less per hour than childcare, if she didn't get it from me free, costs!

Yes, most people I know have 1 or 2 days where their child/children are looked after by a family member for free to make it all add up. Unfortunately I don't have that option as everyone is too far away. I still have positive money after childcare, although I was disappointed when I figured that out as I thought it would be a good excuse to give up work :)

At least it is just until he is school age, which is very much shorter than the term on my mortgage!

I think a lot of family help stopped when they raised the retirement age.

Water bill (metered) - Water Board refuse to remove the meter... Where is the price competition?

Toilet rolls.. It has to be at least 2ply for me, but I hate paying for something that you literally wipe your arse with and flush away!

Travel to work, train pass.

And as others have said, childcare. Although she starts school in September so then it'll be uniform costs.

One of the things I don't like paying for is Train fare, because over many days it adds up quite quickly.
However I do like taking the train though, it's one of the faster ways of travel, and is quite convenient.
Hopefully with time this should become an insignificant cost.

To be fair it is not just to empty the bins - it covers schools, social services, street cleansing, parks and gardens, money towards the emergency services and public transport, libraries, housing in some areas, road repairs, sports facilities and that is just what I can think of off the top of my head.

The bus prices in Leeds are a joke, even in the short 2 years i've been using them to get to work i've seen an increase. I have to get the monthly pass now and even that works out at £14 a week.

Since moving out of the centre i've managed to save quite a lot on hair cuts. I won't lie, i do feel better after paying almost 20 quid for a chop, but i simply can't justify paying that very often. I used to get 'short back and sides' for £3.

One i hate paying is TV license. I simply don't watch it. Even still, i'm stuck paying it because the other half got scared when one of the officers knocked on the door and told her we'd receive a fine. She didn't quite realise that watching Hollyoaks on catch up didn't require a license
