Having used Curve for a number of weeks now, I really am impressed with what they offer and thought I would share a bit of information about them with you as there are some really easy opportunities to make some extra cash.

What can you do with a Curve Card?

Carry all of your Visa and MasterCard products on one card

Curve is ploughing on and has been adding extra features, moving it closer to its original goal as a payment aggregator. The idea is that you can link all of your Visa and MasterCard products (and, long term, hopefully Amex again) cards to Curve, allowing you to just carry one card with you. Using the Curve app, you can switch the card which is recharged with your purchase. For businesses, there are additional features such as the ability to scan a receipt with your phone and have it stored alongside the transaction data.

Switch payment types after purchases

Curve is giving its British and European Mastercard users the ability to switch a purchase between credit or debit up to two weeks after the transaction took place.

Save money when spending abroad

Curve can also be used abroad. It charges the MasterCard rate + 1%, compared with the 3% charged by most credit and debit cards, so you will save 2% AND still receive miles or points from the Visa or MasterCard linked to your Curve Card.

Earn free miles and points every month

Withdraw up to £200/month as cash using your curve card and this will be charged to your credit card as a purchase, earning you purchase points on your credit cards assuming you use a credit cards that offers points on your spending.

Add contactless functionality to any non-contactless card

One other potential benefit is that Curve is contactless. If your main Visa or MasterCard product is not contactless, linking it to a Curve card is an easy way to gain contactless functionality.

Earn cashback when you spend at selected retailers

Curve Rewards offers you instantaneous cashback when you use your Curve card at one of the 50 participating retailers. No waiting around for ‘pending’ or ‘validating’ – the cashback will be available to spend as soon as you leave the store.

How do I make money from a Curve Card?

1. As mentioned above, if you have a credit card that offers rewards/vouchers on your spending, you can use this card in order to make purchases in stores that don't accept credit cards and have them charged to your reward credit card, in turn earning you points.

2. Using this card, you will earn cashback at the retailers listed above. Something you would miss out on using a standard Visa/Mastercard.

3. They have a referral program where you can earn £5 for every person you get to sign up.

Sign up using the referral code MY8X3 & get £5 free!

Once you have signed up, you will get your own referral code, and can share this with friends and family, earning £5 in rewards for each person that signs up and uses their card.

Anything else I need to be aware of?

The curve is targeted at the business market and you will be asked to confirm that you run your own business, are a partner in a partnership or have some form of self employed income on top of your regular job during the application process.

Currently Curve asks for no proof of business ownership, as such many people who want to use the card early have listed themselves as entrepreneurs. Alternatively, you can sign up as a consumer and wait for Curve to release their consumer card.

I've only been with Curve myself for a few weeks now, but they have been around for a while now.

Sign up & get £5 with the code FR8RZ when you make your first transaction

It's a great little app allowing you to carry one card and then charge it to any card that you've linked on there. Handy if you have tons of different cards but don't want to carry them all! You can see all of it's benefits here - https://www.imaginecurve.com

If anyone else wants a code Curve are still running the £5 promo.
All your cards in one, no international transaction fees and you can even go back in time. If you don’t have it already, you can sign up with this link: https://curve.page.link/uitv and we both get £5 or use the code N3MXRBZD

Curve is a Beer Money classic and you've probably already got one, but just in case you haven't, this is a cool fintech startup that consolidates all of your debit and credit cards into one supercard. It's particularly great if you make transactions in currencies other than GBP.

If you sign up with a friend's referral code, you get a free £5! You are welcome to use my code: XDO9RY9E

My link:
https://curve.page.link/ZFZ1

Once you've got the app, remember to use the code XDO9RY9E for a free £5 (if you don't, you don't get a signup bonus).

Once again. My code is XDO9RY9E and you can download on my link here.

Do you only get credited by Curve once you receive the card?

How do you activate the card? How do you get rid of the card and remove your details?

once you get the card you can just go to a cash point, put the card in, change pin number and it's done

that £5 will then be active so go use that wherever you want then you can just remove the 'feeder' debit card if you wish

I've been using my Curve card since January 2018 and use it for nearly all my credit/debit card transactions. I've linked all my debit/credit cards(except American express) to my Curve card so is now the one card in my wallet. Through the app you can select which card your Curve card actually links through to(and charges to) and if you realise you've made a purchase linked to the wrong card you can use the Go Back In Time feature to change where the transaction is charged (within 14 days of the transaction). So if you initially charge a transaction to a linked debit card, but then realise you want to actually put the transaction on a credit card (or vice versa) you can actually use this feature.

You can also get 1% cash back with certain retailers and although transactions made by curve aren't covered by Section 75, they do have their own protection cover up to £100,000.

Would certainly recommend trialing the card and seeing how good it is.

To sign up, firstly, download the Curve Card app and sign up to order the card. If you use code KGUC1 in the sign up process then you'll get £5 credited to your account (so do i)

I see Curve are inviting people to become crowdfunders for them. I'm actually quite tempted and have registered my interest

You don’t transfer it to your bank account you just use it on anything you want by using the curve card online or in store (making sure it’s selected as your primary payment method in the app!)

Thanks Jon. I'd prefer it as cash though so I'm going to see if I can add the Curve card to my PayPal account, deposit £5.00 on a online bookies, withdraw it back to PayPal, then to my bank account :)

I can see no logical reason why that wouldn't work however I know you can't just put the curve card in an ATM and withdraw the £5

Treat it like a 'bonus' that needs wagering once lol

I used Jon's referral at the top of the site, but if anybody would be so kind as to use my referral for a Curve Card I would be grateful. All your cards in one place and 1% cash back at 3 chosen retailers for 90 days.

£5 free if you use my referral code DLLQZLWD

I see from their latest email they are having a bit of a rebrand and seem to be doing a bit 'edgier' in their latest advertising.

It's still a fantastic product in my mind!
