If you are interested in full time reselling look up Nick and Andrea Hills on Youtube. Lots of videos and they are full-time resellers with lots of advice
It depends what you're selling to be honest. There's people who buy goods wholesale and then sell them on as well as buying stuff at car boots/charity shops etc. I've started getting into reselling this month and it's going well so far.

If I were a female I would look for NWT (New With Tag) clothes and then sell them as a job lot (say 10) at a time with the proviso that they are for reselling and that you do not do returns. That way you save yourself a lot of aggravation. I only use the word female because I find, in general, they tend to have a better knowledge about the different brands etc, but a man could do exactly the same thing so long as he took the time to gain knowledge and possibly get advice about latest styles, vintage and so forth. I know very little about clothes, handbags etc. and tend to stick with what I know. At present I have two 20p tools at auction and selling for £25 with several days to go. I think clothes would be great for ladies that cannot get to car boot sales, but can get to charity shops and it could give them a source of income. Give it a go girls!
I tend to stay away from the job lots because of 2 reasons. I`m fussy and usaully find something in the pile I either don`t like/Or I know won`t sale and the other being the job lot auctions never sell cheaply. But If I did get a job lot I wouldn`t sell them altogether, I just think that`s wasting money and then you have to think about your posting and packaging.
Another good week for me...3 sales and 1 this morning. If you do go into reselling you will find that sales come in waves and you can go months without a sale.
I`m also for the charity shops, even though I don`t really buy in them. Last week I saw a pair of Zara shoes and a pair of Kurt Geiger shoes in one shop (Well known brands that don`t sell cheaply) and in another I saw a Bershka skirt, again another shop that doesn`t sell cheaply. I`ve heard if you wanted to find designer charity clothes is to go to the posh/rich places...Unfortanely, I don`t live in one
Nothing much today, just two tools. Cost 40p, sales £22
eBay fees
What a gip!
I sold someone for £220 last week and have to pay eBay fees of around £24!!!
That’s nearly 10% each time going to eBay. Full time eBay resellers must be keeping eBay afloat with how much they are paying to them!
Surprised they don’t create their own platform to sell on to avoid paying those eBay fees
Oh and I’ve forgot about PayPal fees as well!
lol noOn one hand 10% is fair compared to a traditional auction house. My local auction charges 15%, while many others are 17.5%. On the other hand ebay's massive volume and relatively low overheads means they could drop their commission to 5% and still make a handsome profit. I also resent having to pay paypal fees on top. I remember the old days when half my sales were paid for by cheques. Does anyone even have a cheque book any more?
Are these second hand tools? I once bought a 'stubby' hammer in B and M for 99p and sold it for £9.00. But that was before B and M were a national chain
It may just be me
Or it may just be Instagram showing me content it THINKS I want to see but I swear I am seeing more and more disgruntled ebay / amazon resellers online.
Stocking buying items and then really struggling to sell (maybe that's people going out of their niche too much)
But the biggest issue seems to be the returns and also unsold items from people who do FBA with Amazon....
I know people only post online to gripe and not when things are going well but I swear it's ramping up quite a bit at the moment.
