We had a guest visit us from America last week and some friends from around the UK, all members of my Discord community. We did some day trips, visited a few English Heritage locations. The idea was to cram as much Britishness as possible into the week for Emily from Virginia.

I've edited and compiled a tonne of photos of our escapades in my latest post. Enjoy!

I've just started getting into Instagram. It's the one social media I've never been very into. Any suggestions for what is good to post about? I was thinking of taking pictures of some of the stuff I get to try as a result of mystery shopping. I can't really think of much else! My husband put me off a bit because he says insta posts should be arty. I am not that arty lol!

A quick poll on headaches/migraines/clusters : https://invisiblyme.com/2018/08/07/migraines-poll/

And the dreaded 3-0 birthday that's rolled around today and squashed me like a bug. Don't like birthdays anymore...

I feel for you Caz. Migraines are awful. Mine only stopped when I got pregnant. I've left you a comment - hope it might be helpful. Also, Migraine Action are great to sign up to for updates on latest treatments.

I forgot to add in my comment that acupuncture and posture improvement by using a standing desk really helped me. You might be able to get acupuncture on the NHS if they have it in your area. I got a 6 week course through my GP.

Hope it improves soon x

You can post literally anything. Take a look at the Instagram link in my signature for an example. I love photography and post lots of pretty artsy pre-edited photos, but there are also lots of selfies. Instagram is for anything as long as it's tasteful, there's no hard and fast rule on what you need to post.

I know a few people who only post a screenshot of the game they're about to play on a stream. Others only post selfies or pictures of what their makeup looks like. You'll get followers based on what you post either way, as long as you use hashtags to your advantage.

Hope this is helpful... :D

Happy birthday It was my 30th as well this week so I've left you a comment. I was tempted to right a post about it as it was probably one of the worst ones I've had but husband came to his senses and just about recovered it hahaha

Great post this!

You'll have to do a 'those crazy yanks' type post if you go over and stay with them!

Thanks, :D. We've had the offer already, but it's more difficult when you have a child in tow. We'll manage it one day I imagine.

just leave the child at home with the grandparents or something. They'll be fine, character building and all that... ;)

We're already doing that for the 10th anniversary trip to Scotland in October. Luxury lodge. Hot tub. DOUBLE BATH... Gigetty... ;)

How old are they? Our attitude to travelling with the baby was to just go for it. We were visiting my sister in law who moved to New York in January. She wanted to see her niece! The airline staff can't do enough for you. Just don't give your little one a phone to play with - the parents next to us made that mistake and that was all their kid wanted for the whole flight. She didn't want to sleep! So even though our baby was sleeping peacefully for the whole flight (smug face, lol) we didn't get any sleep before having to drive home from the airport! It wouldn't stop us doing it again though. It just taught us not to EVER give our daughter a phone to play with on a plane!

If you do go one thing I'd recommend is to buy anything like nappies, wipes, etc. from amazon.com and get it delivered to your friends' place. Then you only have to bring a few with you. Depends on the age of your little one of course.

Thank you for the kind wishes. Happy Belated Birthday to you too! I'm sorry yours was one of the worst too, but glad it was rescued a little! Sorry to hear about the chickenpox too :(
