Good morning all,
I was just wondering with all this earning money online stuff, how do you present it on a formal CV?

How would you describe the following online money making activities on a CV?

blogging, online surveys, mystery shopping, comping, reselling, task apps.

I would say pick the aspect that best fits the job you are applying for and focus on that.

I'm going to buck the trend and say you don't want this on your CV.

If you are going for a 'proper' job then they wont read a word of it except 'ONLINE' and then they'll be watching your internet use/breaks like a hawk.

If you are going for a job where earning money online is a good skill to have, then by all means enter it.

To give you idea. I'm a moderator on a massive forum. If I wanted a job in social media management or something like than it would be a great thing to put on my CV. As I'm not trying to get a job in social media then I keep it off otherwise it could cause issues.

Aye, good point above! If you are going for a ICT / Web / Social media job then yeah I would put your online earning down otherwise it may do more harm than good.

In an about turn from me, I should take @rninja 's request and be a little helpful.

blogging - if you are going for a job in social media mention you have a blog with 'x' stats and 'x' engagement. Otherwise no.
online surveys - Don't mention this. It will make no positive impact on your CV
mystery shopping - Outline the companies you work for as any job. Advise what you do in that role. Its an auditing role. Mention your acceptance rate (100% unless you've failed some audits but not mention them!), the different types of audits/companies (mention brands you audited).
comping - Never mention this
reselling - Some people will say this is relevant to a sales-based role. I'm just not convinced. ,
task apps - a hard one but I'd say if they are MS tasks they are relevant. If they are auditing then they are relevant. Anything else isn't.

There is a different working world out there and lots of things can be great but most businesses just don't understand it. I tend to keep my 'out-of-work' stuff very seperate from my 'in-work' stuff.

That works for me.

YMMV
