I only just found out that the background check costs £38 which they take off you over 3 weeks £13 a time(monsters!!) The background check is very easy... takes 5 mins, youll need proof of address and ID to send pics of, and then you need get H&R insurance ...easiest is the Zego if you arent doing it full time long term... the zego links to your JE/Uber accounts all very straightforward. The shifts are 4 hour blocks (although 30 mins from end you get a message saying you can clock off if you like as unlikely to get sent jobs) If the zone borders your home area you can hang around near the border and pick up jobs around there... i have done ones well inside another zone that i am not working...but once completed you get a message saying you are too far out your zone and to move closer to continue receiving orders... TBH you can set the map to show "hot spots" in your zone...best is hang around within a hotspot and get more jobs sent to you. When you get set up you set your availability on the app...this needs done by midnight weds and you will get allocated shifts thursday between 4 and 5 i have had 5 4hr shifts both weeks and if you want more you can pick up open runs which when someone rejects a shift it is grabbable but really is fastest finger first...bit of a pain as you have to constantly refresh and they literally go in under a second..or you can get overflow shifts.. when its busy and they need more drivers (TBH only decent in your home zone as you will maybe only get 2 hrs work)... Uber Jeez yeah... i constantly get a useless email telling me i have given wrong document with no feedback as to what i should send!! phone line doesnt work...email is "no reply" In app chat is off 24/7 they are murder

Thanks again mate. I am thinking of doing it long term though so is there a better option than Zego? I'm looking forward to it be honest. Oh and do I not have to pay for the background check up front then? I would rather them take it out of my earnings anyway.

No you pay it back over 3 weeks.. That info is well hidden in t and c's lol.. Yeah there is a few companies that offer hire and reward insurance.. Haven't really looked into it myself.. You want courier insurance that covers hot food... I did one quote and was £1700 which is apparently quite decent

Hi mate, I did all the background checks for JustEat about a week ago nearly. I've had a letter about the DBS check saying if I requested a paper copy (I don't know if I did) I will receive that shortly, if not I can make an account online and find it there. Do I need to though? I'm not sure what's happening at the minute with it, I thought I might of had an email from them by now?

This is one of the reasons I had to stop matched betting :( I was 'enjoying it' a bit too much if you catch my drift. A shame because it was a good way to earn some tax free money *deep sigh*

At least you stopped before that bank balance turned negative!
As others have said chin up and start again :) Good luck!

Hi Rich... you dont need the paper version (i never knew you could get it) once you fill in the forms at Sterling it can take 2-3 weeks to complete the check (you can check on your Sterling account for updates) once cleared they tell JE and then they clear your account to open (which can be another week from DBS check complete).. it really just takes an insane amount of time... There are a few companies offering H&R hot food insurance for decent prices (£100 a month one guy gets) it turns out that some insurance companies dont accept top up insurance such as Zego so in a claim you could end up not covered, but if you are planning on full time then you wont use Zego anyway...try Coversure hyde, Revolution or Acorn be sure sign up to Uber Eats (equally painful slow process) their pay is lower but you can do UE anytime/anywhere unlike Just Eat... also UE have started doing Beelivery style jobs... i did one friday was picking up booze n stuff from a corner shop but unlike Beelivery its all picked out for you also they are going to be doing Asda click and collect soon i believe so tons of work out there

Thanks for all that. I randomly went on Just Eat’s site and it popper up saying “Final Checks” so I did all of that and ordered my bag and now it says when my bag arrives to call them. This is a good sign right??

Uber is just a nightmare to sign up with. It doesn’t work for me.

That sounds like a good sign yes!

Well done for taking action to find something new to do.

I've written about the negatives of matched betting etc in the past, and I know of a couple of people who have started spending. Well done for speaking up, and making changes. I missed the 2nd page of this, have you joined Gamstop etc? Many banks can block gambling transactions too, assuming it's that! x

Thank you.

Yeah I'm signed up to Gamstop for at least another 4 years. I remember a time when the banks couldn't do that but I know they can now, I don't need that now though as I can't gamble online anyway. Thanks for the tip though.

Yeah sounds like you are close to the end of the road... the phone us when you get your bag thing... some users apparently needed to send a pic of them with bag...not something i did, thankfully because my bag only arrived this week after 2 months of badgering them... if your account goes live before the bag arrives (extremely likely) dont wait on the bag, get a £10 chill bag off amazon and get out and earn... you wont get hassle from shops, i see some guys out with a tesco bag for life doing this... I would advise definitely keep at it with Uber ( i fully agree they are an absolute pain to sign up to) all the guys that do this full time for a living are on JE and UE minimum (Getting shifts on Just Eat can be very very hard and you can only work when they give u a shift) most i have been allocated in a week was 6 shifts thats 24hrs of work only... you can pick up other shifts or when they need extra drivers for a couple hours, but as i say very hard to grab those shifts so the guys paying £100 plus a month for insurance cant get by on that and they all do both...many also do Deliveroo (very hard to join as they prefer cyclists) and Stuart which is only operating certain areas in England... Your local zone that you said you couldnt get with Just Eat might be operated by Stuart

Ok thank for all your help mate and didn’t you make like £700 in 10 days or something from it? Was that from only 24 hours a week? I forgot what you said before.

And when I go onto the app it says I have to log in but I haven’t got any log in details yet unless I’ve already done that part ages ago I can’t remember, or does that get sorted after the phone call?

No i hammered it that week managed to find extra shifts and did 6-8 hrs every day.. that is possible but the constant refreshing to get shifts is really tedious (rumour has it some users have "bots" grabbing shifts which is believable as you literally have less than half a second and its gone... am not sure because i never did the phone thing.. if you have a username and password you think you may have used you could try sticking that in...or try calling Just Eat support

Roamler seems to have a good amount of work on it at the moment
Roamler has been good since lockdown started tbh in the past 2 years it has been all merchandising crap but last few months has seen lots of proper roamler style tasks reappearing

Sorry late reply Rich... I got this one did me my first few weeks till proper one arrived.. Gone up a wee bit in price but still decent value

That's great thanks mate!

I've managed to get some work through an agency through hopefully for 9 weeks so I may as well wait until after that before I start with Just Eat, hopefully the bag comes in that time haha. They won't kick me out though will they if I wait??
