I'm trying really hard to work out what you do for a living. I've probably misunderstood but it sounds like your Company has its own drivers, horses and planes?

You work for an international shire horse aerobatic display team ?
:D I work as a shipping consultant - I basically organise the UK and European movements of all the horses belonging to the ruler of a Middle Eastern country and his friends. To give you some idea of the operation size, last year the team moved 17k horses all over the world. We have a fleet of huge horseboxes and two planes. Covid has hit us hard on the human transport side (I don't touch that) but we never stopped moving horses the whole of lockdown and with racing so busy now, it's full on.

As we mentioned earlier, Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due to outline the details of the changes to coronavirus restrictions in England later.

He will do this at a Downing Street press conference at 16:00 BST and will be joined by Prof Chris Whitty, England's chief medical officer, and Sir Patrick Vallance, the UK government's chief scientific adviser.

Doom squad alert..

Well this is really interesting!

The Government said that as of 9am on Wednesday, there had been a further 2,659 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus. Overall, 355,219 cases have been confirmed.

The Government said 41,594 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Wednesday, an increase of eight on the day before.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have now been 57,400 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

Vallance being quite chirpy. Do you think someone gave him the Good Haribo before they started?

Forget sports like rugby league and union if they don’t work out a way to get some crowds into stadiums we will end up loading a handful of league 2 and 1 clubs from the football league!

Same for racing - the whole industry is in a bit mess at the moment. The owners have been treated disgracefully by the BHA and a lot are now leaving. Already the yearling sales which is the feeder sale for next year's new racehorses are down in numbers going through the ring, which makes you wonder what has happened to the rest of them? The top end will survive but the lower levels like syndicate clubs cannot survive while the numbers are so limited.

A little indication of how healthy the horseracing industry is is how many staff are looking for jobs. When things are going well there are not that many. So last year my friend advertised for staff, got 3 applications from the usual suspects that are constantly yard hopping. Last month she did the same, she had 20 applications within 4 hours. And they could cherry pick the best staff from those that applied.

It seems they are going to keep the Newmarket event in late September as a pilot event you hearing anything about that?

They pulled Doncaster after just one day, so we are not very hopeful that it will go ahead.
