My pharmacist friend thinks that once we're down to vaccinating under 50s, it will be handed over to wherever usually delivers flu jabs, i.e. GP surgeries, pharmacies, and supermarket pharmacies.

I think it must already be happening. My mum has been waiting patiently for the call. My dad who has already had his jab was picking up his meds from his local chemist and was telling the chemist about it. He told my dad not to worry and booked my mum in at another large local chemist that is involved in giving jabs! Apparently, some larger ones have been doing it for a while!

A friend of mine in his 60s and clinically extremely vulnerable went for his jab today and they told him he wasn't expected. They told him about 20 people had turned up in the same way today. He was able to show them he had an appointment, but they turned him away and suggested he phoned his doctor.

I am sorry to hear that and hope his doctor can help sort it out.

I got the text to make an appointment and am going next Wednesday. I am 58. I don't know if it is because I had cancer last year or because I live with my dad who is 90 and had a mini stroke 2 weeks ago. Hope it's not a mix up.

Hugely amused that a friend who is very cagey about their age has been outed by their invitation letter today!

anyone else struggling mentally with this latest lockdown compared to the rest

it seems like it's been going on FOREVER and even though we have jabbed 15m people in under 1.5 months it all feels worse than ever!

Yep, it feels so much more difficult in the winter months. Really missing being able to see my nan and nephew as well.

Haha, I know, literally had about 7 layers on yesterday. I see the same people at the same time every day trying to keep sane on a daily walk. Feels like groundhog day

I've actually become friends with an 80 year old woman on the walk and she's hilarious and actually brightens my day when I see her. Some others go past and say 'fancy seeing you here?'...'are you following me?' every. single. day :ROFLMAO:

see for me it's the lack of fun at the weekend (or week) and just doing nothing

no concerts
no theatre
no cinema
no sporting events
no cafes
no pubs

no nothing, nadda, ZIP

All our outlets for any mental health struggles have all just gone!

Agreed. It's really difficult. I would just love to be able to go to a beer garden with my family and friends this summer. Really need a laugh and some good company (away from the house)! I don't even go to the cinema that much, maybe 2/3 times a year, but this week I have literally been desperate to go to the cinema!
