Thanks, I do have that. I'm desperate to get in their good books and not get gubbed.

This is random but related... but in terms of taking close matches is there a suggested % of what bookies consider the customer not taking value from them?

E.g back odds of 2.45 and lay odds of 2.67 is an odds closeness of 90.60% according to my MB calculator. Is this ok, or can you push it 93-94% or above?
Avoid horses! and if you didn't hear that AVOID HORSES!!!!! This is where all bookies are most focussed and the area that leads to the majority of gubbings (the very big races are usually ok)

For football, be consistent. Mostly the same leagues (don't pick 5 leagues if you are only putting one bet on each league each week - unless it is the same team) and same type of bet (I would suggest keeping the bets at a level to get the same return - twice as much on 3/1 as on 6/1). You can go outside of this for the odd big match in a different league, but kjeep to that consistency. If you are consistent, then you don't have to worry about the 'value' - B365 odds are not that good, so you will rarely take value anyway.

Matches of 90% don't even come up on my odds matcher results. I try to keep qualifying losses to a minimum so usually go for 94% to 99% if I can. Just be sure to keep it below 100%

Been enjoying the racing at Newmarket yesterday and today - it’s a meeting we normally go to which is annoying! Good to see Frankie get a win at 50!!

@Jon As my first post in a (vain) attempt to get to 50 posts (where does the time go), I thought I would ask is it better to have been a Norwich fan and miss out of a whole season of having to go to Championship matches and so be in the situation of only being able to attend Premier League matches, or a Fulham fan and see your team only on TV in the Premier League (although you did get to see virtually all live) and only be able to attend Championship matches. I suspect I know the answer, but as you haven't celebrated here yet it gives you the chance.........

PS - beware The Bielsa - he is waiting for some fresh blood to test his skills on

I’m afraid with your post count of 1279 you are WAYYY post the 50 posts / 100 posts checkpoints :)

I’m happy Fulham got relegated - still angry at them for sending us down in 2004/2005!!

Damn! 1300 posts - £10 x 13 - £130 - Are you saying you don't have the budget for that :D

But seriously - keeping Daniel was a very good move, something Sheff Utd are going to possibly regret - I will definitely be putting a few squid on them to get a double relegation.

Hopefully Daniel has learnt a few things to keep you up this time and avoid the dreaded

I was just happy when Leeds got to 40 points, so mid table is definitely a bonus. You will have to spend well in the Summer though, we did and it definitely helped.

Leeds have done farrrr better than i thought they would - hopefully it won’t be just a one season wonder!

I think the performance in the last few games, without Kalvin and not going quite so gung-ho, show that Bielsa is learning. Considering how Guardiola reveres him then we can be at least hopeful for next year.

Dallas has been class for yous, although I’m Northern Irish so a bit biased.
And guess who is the highest scoring defender in Fantasy League.......

It's a shame you didn't qualify for the Euros, it would have been nice to have a full house there.

Just wanted to share my matched betting experience so far, as I thought it might help others thinking of starting...hopefully this is the right place!

I started just before Cheltenham, so back in March this year. I think I've roughly had to deposit over £2k to give myself enough of a bankroll across a couple of exchanges and multiple bookies to be able to make most bets work.

My profit currently stands around £400, which includes a couple of fairly costly mistakes - one relating to in-play betting which I'm now very cautious with, the other thanks to a Paddy Power gubbing (restricting promotions) where I made a user error.

All in all I'd say not too bad for less than 2 months, where I spend maybe an hour a day going through offers, more if I do a new sign up. This takes into account paying for a membership with a matched betting site.

Really should study this, it appears easy money is being lost out on.

4 1/2 years in and nearly £57k up I would have to agree with you. It is true that it is not as lucrative as it was at the start, but I am still averaging £800 a month.

PS - although I would definitely advise taking it up, a time with no football (which will be the case shortly) is not necessarily the best time to start. If you are going to be regularly (and it has to be regular) betting on horses then there will be some good sign up offers before the Epsom and Ascot meetings (both in June). Otherwise a really good time is just before the start of the next football season in August as there will be a LOT of sign-up offers then.

It's all relative to how much time you have to dedicate and you do need some cash to start to be able to lay your bets.

I've been working from home which helps, but I'd say I still only spend an hour each day on matched betting. I just checked properly and I'm up £450 in two months. Take out mistakes and it would be more like £550. This is 99% from free bet offers - none of the more complicated offers.

Do a trial for £1 with a matched betting site, you'll make more than that from your first bet.
