Well things have been going well since I last posted in here, I've been able to max out the Appen rating work and have had mystery shopping every month as well as lots of prolifics and other little bits and pieces. It's all well and good when it works but as we all know these kinds of jobs can't be relied on and sure enough in the last week Appen has cut the rate of one job, stopped giving full batches on another and the mystery shopping has been pulled! Sigh.
Naturally I've been looking at what else there is around but I think I've hit a bit of a wall. No news from Crisp (and reading the chat thread possibly another years wait if I ever get anything!), nothing new on clickworker, Neevo has dried up, onepulse & intellizoom only ever trickle and I never qualify for anything on utest. I sell the odd sticker and phone case on Redbubble and really should get some more bits on there but as a full time carer/home edder whose toddler still doesn't sleep at night frankly I'm too darn knackered to be very creative for now. I have read the Amazon KDP thread and think there's potential there too but ditto!
So what I could really use is another Lionbridge/Appen type job that I can knock out relatively easily even in my foggy headed state and/or with the littley floating about if she refuses to nap. Any suggestions welcome!
Just take your time, I would maybe jot down 5-6 ways you want to constantly make money each month. So this could be anything from surveys through to the Red Bubble concept. If you keep the number of ways you are making money low it will be be far easier for you to grow them as all your attention will be much more concentrated!Thought I'd update as it's been a while. Things aren't going well are they! Today the impact of the tax increases on my husbands pay has hit and it's a lot more than we were expecting unfortunately. Annnd last week my big project with Appen ended so that's us seriously down. Just as the price of just about everything is going through the roof. Scary times! On the plus side my sons DLA has (finally, took them 14 worrying weeks when they said no more than 8!) just been renewed which means I still qualify for carers allowance so at least I haven't lost that. And we are luckily in a position these days where there is a bit of wiggle room with our finances - which I know isn't the case for a lot of people - but even so we are living in a large renovation project and have less and less to do anything to it. And the fixed rate on our mortgage will be up early autumn too which looks like it's gonna hurt. So yeah, I need to make some money lol! I did spend some time getting some more designs on Red Bubble earlier in the year finally and plan to do more and I've started 'comping' a bit on the off chance I can win something we need but I seriously need to get my thinking cap on now!
I never knew you could submit your own card designs to the likes of FunkyPigeon and Thoughtful - How much do you earn from each card that's sold on there?Thought I'd update again.
So I seem to be focusing on print on demand at the moment. I had already started on this earlier in the year before I lost Appen so it seemed a good idea to continue now I can give it more attention. I've started by getting the designs I already had on Red bubble on some other sites (spring/Teepublic/printify/zazzle) initially and have then been working on more designs. I also applied for amazon merch thinking I could use spring for that, but unfortunately heard back this morning that I haven't been accepted. I have also been targeting card websites though with a little more sucess. I haven't heard back from Funky Pigeon as yet but I uploaded the 5 design max onto Thortful and one has been through moderation and been added to the main catalogue so pleased with that! Hopefully some of the others will soon too! Moon pig don't appear to do anything similar but I've also opened an account with Scribbler. For them I need to send a portfolio so will work on that next. Sales wise just the one t-shirt on Teepublic but it's a start.
