I'm hoping so, but probably not for a few years. I need to get a mortgage first with my current income.
I've also started listing a few things on Etsy, merch and redbubble. Only had a few sales as I've not concentrated much on it yet, but I'm trying to build up an income on multiple platforms.
An update for you all. I've now got 250 books live since starting June 2020. And I've made £16000 gross.
Not sure on my exact net profit for that time as I have various expenses like ads, courses and software.
Just had my best day so far.
I've made £270 so far today and I expect I'll probably make it over £300 by the end of today.
Edit - just calculated I've spent £200 on ads this month and have made £800 in royalties.
So £600 profit from work I did in the past. In July so far I've probably spent...
I create all my interiors from scratch.
I use canva and use the lines, shapes and text to create what I want.
The problem with templates is that your product is not unique. And I prefer to make unique books that are better than my competitors.
If you do use templates, I'd advise editing...
Thought I'd give an update.
I've been doing KDP for just over a year now and have made just over £11000 in royalties (gross earnings)
My aim for the next year (July 2021 to June 2022) is to earn £30000 net. To do this, I need to have steady regular months as well as an outstanding Christmas.
I average around £1000 a month, sometimes more.
I've got a range of seasonal books that I released 3 weeks ago that have made over £500 so far.
It should hopefully continue for June and July aswell and these books should hopefully make me around £2000 - £3000 in total.
I buy and I also buy the full POD licence incase I don't want to edit the image. I do this as often I don't edit the images and if I had the subscription, if you ever cancel, you have to take down the images you've not edited.
I don't use a huge amount of graphics so this works for me.
That's great that you're getting some sales!
I actually spend a lot more time researching than I do sometimes making the books and because of the amount of time I spend researching keywords, most of my books sell organically when they're put on without ads.
Some sell only a few copies a month...
Depends on type of book.
Low content books are normally between 2 days and a week for me.
Books with more content, get approved within 24 hours.
In late November / December, approval time is really slow. Can take 2 weeks to get a book approved.
I've now sold 496 books so far this month and I'm at £805.
£805 / £1000
As soon as Easter is over, my daily earnings will decrease, so I'm currently working on some non seasonal books. I should have at least 4 of them ready to be published this weekend but I'm I'd love to be able to publish 10!
