For the rating work you need a desktop PC and a phone, you work on the PC and use the app on the phone at the same time so you can see what a page looks like on your phone but you rate it on the task on your PC - it will all become clear if you start doing the job.
The Social Media type ones are usually just 1 hour a day and shorter contracts - Truckee definitely is like that. Yukon can potentially have more hours and if your work is a good standard you could get your contract renewed every 6 months. There are times when there is lots of work in Yukon...
It might be worth starting again with them in that case have you tried re registering https://appen.com/careers/
You could also take a look at Isoftstone and Lionbridge although don't think there's anything going in the UK at the moment for them but worth a check now and again. I don't think...
A lot of the projects are short term, especially the social media one hour a day ones which usually only run for 9 months. Keep checking the websites and keep your details up to date, you never know when out of the blue you'll get an email inviting you to a project.
It's over 5 years ago now, but it took me several months from applying before I was offered the exam. Looks like I started the application process in mid February and was accepted as an agent on 10th July. I know it can be much quicker as well but that was my experience.
This also happened to me with a voice recording task I did for them. Had done a few for them in a series of tasks, always paid by Paypal and the last one they changed to Payoneer with no warning so I only got $2 instead of $5, I complained and never got any real sense out of them. I won't be...
I said yes to the listening to machine voices project and then they sent me a short voice recording job to do as well, think it's only US $5 but was really easy and only took 15 minutes. Haven't heard back about the voice listening one yet though.
I find Prolific very hit and miss but last week I had two days where the surveys just kept coming and then back to nothing, so it is worth keeping your eye on. I also think there are fluctuations with the amount of work depending where we are in the academic year. I do find these the most...
Well I didn't manage to do a study but am willing to wait this one out, think this will be a good site when they've managed to iron out a few teething problems. I think these first few studies will have been as much a learning curve for them as for us and hopefully they'll keep tweeking things...
I used @larlie1983 link. If you would like to use mine it is https://minds.testable.org/ref/0fdcc64afbb7
I also qualified for the $5 bonus so it is still there at the moment.
Thank you and good luck everyone.
Just passed the test for the transcription work, need to wait to hear from them now. Make sure you have the guidelines open if you are taking the test so you can quickly search for the answers, most of them are pretty easy to find. Good luck all.
I got the Blue email too. Looks like a few projects I've done in the past, they can be a little labour intensive these and hard to earn a decent hourly rate but you can't tell how they are going to be until you start doing them. I'm gonna give the test a go tomorrow and see what I think if I...
Got the Blue Transcription invite here too. Good luck to everyone else who accepted the invite. I sometimes get invited to things and then never hear anything back so I'm not holding my breath on this one.
A lot of the Appen projects are very short and over in a blink. It is best to have other main income and just use these as top up to your other income. You do get the odd project that lasts longer but in my experience these are few and far between. I don't mind most of the projects I've...
