Re: A guide to What Users Do. Thanks Jon. I'm on an iPhone, only done this once before and now can't remember what I did - would be helpful if they put the instructions with the test instructions! I have swiped up and Airdrop is now open to everyone, but what am I supposed to do on my laptop...

Re: A guide to What Users Do. What are you meant to do regarding phone calls when the only number is a US one which charges international rates? Calling them would mean losing all the payment.

Background in teaching? Work from home as a proofreader

I asked and they said for the proofreader role they would ideally want someone in the office.

Background in teaching? Work from home as a proofreader

Thankyou, I taught English for 3 years, and have proofreading and publishing experience so I might give this a go. The job spec doesn't mention anything about being able to do it from home though, it seems office based, did it say you could work from home on the Facebook page?

Downsizing and going down a few sizes

No you don't need landlord insurance but I will need to tell my mortgage company. It's all arranged by a company who specialise in bringing over busloads of foreign students, mostly French, because we are in a touristy town. It's covered by their own insurance. Likewise, for now at least, should...

Downsizing and going down a few sizes

I thought it's about time I started keeping a record of what I'm doing to bring in some money. As you'll know if you read my post on Jon's blog, I was made redundant in October last year, and due to various circumstances (children, dogs!) I need to continue to work from home. We are in the act...

FirstSource : Customer Service Advisor work from home - £13561.60 a year

Possibly. The room I am thinking of is a very long way from the phone socket though!

FirstSource : Customer Service Advisor work from home - £13561.60 a year

I see thankyou both. The new phone line and broadband connections would be for the dedicated room you need as you can't use wireless and must plug in your landline in that room. Didn't realise all these extra costs would be incurred over and above headset etc.

FirstSource : Customer Service Advisor work from home - £13561.60 a year

What's a basic thin client? I'd be interested but set up for not only getting a dedicated phoneline in another room, broadband access in another room AND a desktop are just too much on a salary of £13K I think.

Slow Cookers - Anyone use these things?

My large slow cooker has gone to the great kitchen in the sky, sob sob. :( It developed a ginormous crack. I do have another but it's not big enough for a whole chicken so after we've finally moved house, if that ever happens in my lifetime (!) I'll be on the lookout for a good deal.

Stardrops, Zoflora and white vinegar for me too. And Aldi washing powder.

    General Chat - January

Very icy this morning, I felt sorry for my poor bunnies but I expect they were toasty warm in their shed all night. No snow though, much to my children's disgust.
