I've been using Mofono (Money For Nothing) since April 8 to test and see if it worked before posting and it does. Best for those with unlimited texts in their mobile plan, this app sends test texts to their server from your phone and pays for each one sent. You can select how many you want to send per month up to a maximum of 2400 which earns you £10.80.

You can withdraw in £5 increments from £5 up to £50. To withdraw, you get sent a text with a code that you show at the local post office, and they pay you out in cash. I just made my first withdrawal this morning to confirm this is legit.

Proofs:
- Account history in app
- Text received today (request submitted on Tuesday)
- Receipt from successful withdrawal from post office this morning
- Link to the post office website that offers this service to businesses as a way to pay/refund their customers

Use code 1523 when you sign up for an additional £5 bonus, credited once you've been an active user for 30 days.

Available on the Galaxy store, or directly from Mofono here (both non-ref links)
Edit - This is for Android only. The app is on the galaxy store but not the play store

Apply My Ref Code: 1523

Thanks for using my code.

On "refer a friend" there is a purple button I can click that says "refer a friend" (it's at the bottom underneath the text saying "when they have been an active mofono user....."). Is that not there for you?

Does your phone need to do a system update or update the app at all? What phone are you using too?

Just having a look around the site and there is no physical address, contact number of people listed.

However, Companies House lists the owner of MOFONO as John Kitching and an address in Leeds.

A google of both these terms leads to a story about a parcel delivery scam.

Of course, it may be a coincidence but I certainly would not sign up to it. Especially when ignorance is not a suitable defense in law.

And...

You can get unlimited text contracts for £4.95 per month. Then why give a stranger £10 to do it?

MEET the king of the dodgy text message. Smarmy and stinking rich, Tim Kitching is standing by his pounds 115,000 blue convertible Ferrari.

He's just left his penthouse flat to drive the quarter mile to start another hard day in the office. It is 11.30am.

For Kitching, 35, "work" consists of running companies which rip people off and leave debts in their wake.

His current scam outfit is Moby Monkey Ltd. From an HQ in Leeds it has been automatically sending thousands of unsolicited text messages to mobile phones.

They claim that you have been chosen to receive a pounds 500 "mystery award".

If you called the pounds 1.50-a-minute claim line, you eventually found that the prize was actually holiday vouchers, which you would then have to spend more money to use.

The premium rate telephone watchdog, ICSTIS, found that the promotion was "seriously misleading".

The recorded message was also strung out, in a bid to boost the cost to the caller and the bank balance of Moby Monkey.

ICSTIS says the operation breached six rules and fined the firm a massive pounds 50,000. Its actions were "totally unacceptable" and caused "serious consumer harm".

"Sorted can reveal that Kitching's schemes have been censured six times in the past year and he has run a string of firms that have been forced into liquidation by the cour

I did my research into all of this before posting and I wouldn't have joined if I didn't think it was safe.

The texts are not a threat to you at all in any way and the texts that get sent out go to the app. They have successfully paid out too so from your point of view 1) You get the money and 2) They are not doing anything dodgy to you or your phone.

The only dodgy thing about this is the person has been involved with the law for scamming however there is absolutely nothing out there to suggest that this app is dodgy in any shape or form (I have done a heck of a lot of research into Mofono before posting).
