I'm not surprised, that the Octopus Tracker tarrif has been popular.

Below is what I'm paying today on Octopus Tracker.

The Gas Tracker 25/02/2023 is 6.27p/kWh not inc standing charges.
Electric Tracker Price on Sat 25/02/2023 is 24.41p/kWh not inc standing charges.

It's still worth considering joining Octopus on Flexible Tarrif and then joining the Tracker wait list.

Here is A short Youtube video on the Octopus Tracker tariff. You do need a smart meter that has consistently supplied 30 min readings. The only risk is that prices spike and Octopus Energy can take up to 2 weeks to switch you to another tariff. With the current problems in the middle east ( Jan 2024) it looks like LNG supplies will start to drop sharply.

Someone mentioned you have to join Octopus on standard tariff first before switching to any "smart" tariff that is correct.
It takes 7-30 days to switch, you can change your tariff online. There is currently no waiting list to join Tracker.

An update from OCTOPUS regarding Tracker Tarif.

"Tracker remains one of the best-value tariffs on the market - in December and January, the updated rates have typically been nearly 40% cheaper than Flexible Octopus

• Because of how Ofgem's price cap works, Tracker is becoming a 'fixed term' tariff. Your unit prices still change daily but your unit price formula and standing charge will be fixed for 12 months."

They're an excellent energy company.
