Very little activity today. A few surveys and the start of the Royal Mail panel. Someone also messaged me to see if I was up for teaching an evening class. I said wasn't sure, only because I'm scared.

I have the same issue with prolific. Sometimes I get 3 or 4 in a day or so and other times wait and wait. I was sick of getting the screening questions day after day but nothing that would actually pay.

Someone also messaged me to see if I was up for teaching an evening class. I said wasn't sure, only because I'm scared.

Is there time to sort out what you are scared of. I would imagine teaching evening class would be fun as the people there would actually want to be there.

Just finished a survey for prolific and have agreed to start the class on the 15th January. It's only an hour a week and provided people turn up I'm sure I'll enjoy it just hope they do.

I've also got my first instore mystery shop on Sunday. I've done phone ones before but this is the first go to the shop one. Comfort zone is being pushed. Until recently I was a full-time carer and that has knocked my confidence quite a lot.

So this year, so far (today) I have signed up to market force and been surprised by how many jobs were available that I could get to. 40 mile round trip but I do it most weeks anyway. Found out a bit more about phone apps. Not sure if they are for me or not but have bought a new phone. Not my dream phone but at least the os isn't so old fashioned that you can't even get snapchat. I was seduced by the topcashback offer from giffgaff and cash back seduction is a danger zone for me. I also signed up to a couple of market research companies for focus groups. So no actual real profit. I need to reconnect with selling on eBay. I used to make quite a lot from that many moons ago but it was a different marketplace then. I stopped enjoying running my shops when the big companies got in on it. One more thing I did today was start posting on here.
2018? So far so good.

Marketforce is great for mystery shopping, I manage to do quite a few each month with these. Another one to try is Red Wigwam. They don't have as many but still some good ones on there and more online jobs too. Good luck!

Well it looks like whatusersdo, prolific, vypr and emotional miners love me after all. Busy evening last night :D. Stressful day today, not moneymaking as that has been rolling in, just life stuff. I don't live very near any large shops but a trip into town for mystery shopping, about 20miles away, once a week could tie up nicely with other things like shopping and baby sitting.

I've spent the day reading up about uTest. I still wouldn't say I feel confident but I have a slightly better idea of what to do. This evening I have to get ready for tomorrows mystery shop. I spend a lot of my time learning as this is all new. I'm sure once I get properly started it will all feel a bit more profitable.

Well I got an invite from whatusersdo at 5.30am this morning and another one at 7.30am. £10 earned before breakfast:). Today is the day of my first mystery shop. So the plan is to drive to town, visit the store, then go to Morrisons for coffee and free wifi. Hoping the phone app will prove adequate to write the report. I'm not very impressed with the app so far, doesn't show any available jobs, website does, and I needed to reinstall it yesterday as it wouldn't let me in even though the password was definitely correct. Still, we will see.

So this is 3.09am on 1/1/18. This year I am going try various ways to make money from home. I don't have any income at the moment. Literally none. I don't want to start with a sob story as I hope that this diary will be a positive place to come to that will help to spur me on.
So far I have signed up for surveys, what users do, qmee, swashbucks, some focus groups, top cashback and quidco. I am looking at match betting but i'm not quite ready yet. In theory I 'made' £200 in December but since it's all tied up in points etc lets not count our chickens until they are a bird in the hand.
Happy 2018! I am on a serious mission this year to also make some money from home and if I could make £200 I'd be absolutely ecstatic! I do need to get better with whatusersdo, I probably do one survey every other month but it's a good way to make £5 here and there. I love Qmee personally and Quidco and together they easily give me about £20 a month which is a start. For focus groups I am with Focus 4 People and Focus Groups UK. Swagbucks has been a bit hit and miss for me and I used to love a site called Ciao but it recently stopped renumeration for reviews so steer clear. Keep us posted on how you get on!

Well I did my first mystery shop today. I quite enjoyed it but managed to earn £7.50 and spend £33 whilst loitering:rolleyes:. I really enjoy whatusersdo but I do tend to rant and then realise it was me being dumb. Prolific academic is a good one. Topcashback and Quidco I wish I'd used years ago although like the mystery shopping there is temptation involved.

Once you have done a few you will be much more relaxed. Many jobs that come round regularly with very little change, so some will be second nature to you very quickly. With some I take brief notes and check them when I am doing toilet checks or trying something on. I also use that time to make notes on my phone. Good luck with it.

Cracking cognition test on prolific this morning. So want to know how many mistakes I made. Really knackered today but managed to drag myself to aquacise and do some other business. So big tick for being good. I would like a GTM today as I'm only 50 points from cashing out and have been for several days now.

I'm sure I will. There doesn't seem to be many new jobs this week but even every now and then helps .

Got a test invite from whatusersdo at 2.30pm. Went to accept at 2.37pm and it was already closed! 2.30pm was the time on the email so not even as if it had taken long to get to me.

Funny old day. Got 2 GTM invites. First one got screened out. Second got almost to what surely must have been the end of a very boring survey and got an error page, grrrrrrrrrrr. I just want to get those 50 points to cash out.

I did my sandbox test for uTest but it is not for me. The first part was fine but the bug-finding I just didn't enjoy. I found it far too frustrating so I don't really want to take it forward. I finished it so as not to burn bridges but please don't make me do it again. Emotion miner sent me an invite. I logged in and tried to accept the job showing, which wasn't there the other day, but just got the msg about that project coming to an end. Whatusersdo have sent me an invitation to a special project next week. £25 if my skype works.

Well, it should be a quiet day today. It's not unwelcome but I could do with a bit of money making. All I've got to do today is finish off signing up for Ipsos and register a post box.

Applied for my first job for Ipsos. There was quite a lot on I could do but thought I'd start with one. Might kick myself if all the ones I could do disappear. Had my little one year old helper today so it took about an hour to do one 10 minute survey. Get to post my first Royal Mail letter tomorrow. Class has been moved to 22nd which suits me better as I'm still totally coughing away.
