While we're on the subject, Has anyone ever let out a spare room on air BnB to earn some extra cash?
How did it go?
Any good or bad stories?

I would be nervous about having strangers in my house but it seems there is quite a demand for rooms if you are in a touristy or city area.

I have a friend who has just started, she lets her spare room out on odd occasions that way she makes sure either her or her partner are in the house.

Simple things like tea / coffee making facilities in the room, tv, ar3 what they need x

I know some people renting out an annex which has gone well.

I love using AirBNB for travelling, stick to well reviewed hosts and it's brilliant.

My referral code is www.airbnb.co.uk/c/cskerrett1 - you get £25 off with it (I get £15 credit when you first use AirBNB to stay somewhere).

I use AirBnB all the time. I travel quite a lot, and I’ve never had any trouble. I was on a month long contract in London and I booked a room in a house for that month. All the facilities were shared but I’m still friends with the 2 girls. If I’m travelling for fun I just go for an apartment or house that isn’t shared.

Would I rent out a room in my house? No, probably not.

I managed to get £40 off my first booking by signing up with a referral link and then referring a family member. £25 + £15. Not a bad saving!

Here's my link if anyone wants to sign up and get £25 off their first booking (of more than £55)

I've just helped someone get £25 credit on their first stay and earned £15 in credit.

:)

Check out my blog post about how easy it is to save with AirBnB
I'm just not sure I've got the balls to stay in an AirB&B. When we visit 'the motherland' (ie, Norwich) now we tend to stay at a Holiday Inn now because we can take the dog for free and they can stay there. Can you take pets OK into AirB&Bs?

Hi @Jon

sorry - i didn’t see this

each air bnb is different and has Different rules.
I don’t have a dog so it isn’t something I’ve checked before.
pets allowed is a searchable filter.
