I used to buy products for personal use from aliexpress and it was always either free shipping or decent shipping cost and the products were mostly cheap. Now i go on aliexpress and the process are almost as much as UK prices, and i was gonna start reselling on eBay.
Even on alibaba the prices from resellers are just "good deal" prices, but the supplier prices are in sanely cheap. I was gonna buy some cool looking touchscreen jet lighters, only wanted about 10 of em but the shipping was about $35... And that's the case for everything.

Dunno. I still see a lot of things with free shipping. Not sure if these are the lighters you mean but they are free shipping. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32995808470.html

Hard to make money buying from Ali to sell on ebay though. It is the usual race to the bottom with people seemingly happy to take 10p profit per item against the Ali price. Plus you have the Aliexpress sellers themselves selling the product directly on ebay for the same price its on Ali for.

Aibaba should be cheaper but you have to buy in volume and they do seem to have higher postage costs there. Plus you are more likely to get stung for customs duties buying lager volumes. There are easier ways to make money IMHO. The exchange rate is against us too at the moment.

You would make more money but promoting affiliate links for said products on whatever e-commerce website you are working with and zero overheads and no responsibility!

Well it depends on what platform you are pushing 'said item' on but basically you would just turn the words into an affiliate link

I was just looking to buy those cool lighters at like, 30p each and selling em for £5-ish, but dunno if it's worth it if their £2 and usually aliexpress sellers give you like a 20p discount if your buying bulk. Ideally I'd like to source the products closer to home but they'd be more expensive. I did get a text off someone from NL who was selling bic lighters but the guy called me an idiot cos i said i wanted a "tray of Lighters." Isn't that the correct terminology?

Yeah but they wouldn't buy anything from the affiliate link, would they? I know i don't and it pisses me off when I'm reading articles and all the words are blue hyperlinks.

Why would they not if the content around the link is well written and educational about the product?
