Im really confused what people are doing with these soup cans. Do you sell them with the labels on? Does it have to be soup, or any can? Does it have to be a particular brand of soup??

Hi Homie
You could probably sell any empty tins. I just rinse them out and peel off the labels. Done!

Where are people sourcing these empty tins / bottles from anyway? Are they just buying them themselves, using the products and them shoving them on ebay or are they trawling through car boots at the weekend?

I happen to like soup and so, just keep the empty tins. As said, you could probably sell other tins. I think craft workers buy them to decorate and then put plants in.
You mentioned the rum bottles which people sell. They are okay, but I'm always a bit cautious about sending glass items as they need a lot more packing. Think I'll stick to cans!

Selling used cans is a good idea! I may have to start doing something similar myself

Wow, that seems like a cool way to make some extra dough. I just don't know if I really have the storage space for all these empty cans and things.

I read an article the other day about selling the cardboard part of toilet rolls so I might try that to if I can store thme and still keep the flat de-cluttered :p

Today I sold an army coat hanger for £12.50. This was in a bunch of wooden hangers I bought for £2. Most went in the wardrobe, but any hangers with hotel names or names of tailors on always sell. Also, sold a wood chisel for £20 that cost me £2. There are lots of items out there Tommyboy that you can make money on. Good luck.

Sounds too good to be true for me as well!
If you look on ebay at tin cans undr crafts you can see them being sold. If you list 30 for £20 post free you can make a profit of around £10. People buy them to decorate and then put things in !

True. I have sold many coat hangers with hotel names and some from shipping cruise ships. People don't realise all the different things you can sell!

Let me give you guys an update from this week. Saw £1 sold 9.99
Picture frame 50p sold £8.99
Hammer 50p sold 9.99
Oil pourer with brand name. (not a good buy as it was pretty badly damaged) Cost me £8 and only made just over £4 profit, but as they say, a profit is a profit)
Set of mason tools cost £15. Sold £35.
Book cost 50p sold £5.99
Set of picture frames cost £1 sold £14.99
Bricklayers trowels cost £2 sold 19.99
Okay nothing spectacular, but all steady profits even after commission.
Anybody wanting to do what I do, I would recommend keeping your purchases to £3 or less as that way you can't lose much.
