Hello. I have been away for a while but want to try out matched betting. Read Jon's guide and signed up to Profit Accumulator and have put through my first bet. I was surprised that I couldn't use Paypal for the qualifying bet and I was hoping to use Paypal as my main account for depositing etc. I now know that I will need a bank account that gives me a debit card but I have concerns that if I have another account and I only use this for things to do with betting, that I will have issues when it comes to mortgage renewals etc.

Anyone have any issues with banks/mortgages due to matched betting? What do people use for their matched betting account, I am not sure which one I should go for so any ideas would be really gratefully received. Thank you!

I've NEVER had an issue when it comes to mortgage renewal. All bookies do are 'soft searches' on you, same as they would do if you bought a moble phone ;)

Thanks Jon. That is reassuring. Think I am just so scared of going down this route and ruining something else as a result. But really needing to bring in some money now and MB seems the obvious choice.

aye, like you've found out. do deposits via debit card

nothing stops you making an account AWAY from your main accounts to do MBing ;)

I take it you need to do ALL deposits with debit card or is it just for some particular offers to be valid?

Renewals - probably not.

New mortgages - they usually do a review of your finances/bank statements and the person reviewing it might 'flag' that you are making many transactions with bookies.

I'd suggest anyone looking to get a mortgage shouldn't do MB until after the mortgage is sorted.

Lots of bookies will accept paypal and all their offers are valid. Its literally just one or two that dont.

Also, if you are worried, open an account with one of the new internet banks that comes with a debit card and use that for your matched betting.

I'd suggest opening an account with Barclays and using it solely for MBing, lots of bookies have fast withdrawal with Barclays, more bookies are adding this facility too, you'll get any withdrawal instantaneously )They say within 2 hours but I've always had mine instantly ) not having to wait 3 - 5 days for funds to hit your bank account makes a huge difference to how quickly you can get on offers especially when you're starting out with a small bank.
