Hi guys I’m setting up a little business selling like family prints in a frame. I’m having trouble with the prints though. I’m designing them on my Mac and then when I print them the colour doesn’t come out the same. It’s much duller than what it should be. I’ve been reading online and it says you have to calibrate the screen or something to match the printer but I don’t know how to do this. Is there any other way that I’m missing? Thanks for any help.

More likely to be the printer rather than the monitor/screen in my opinion @rich110991

Most printers can only reproduce a few thousand colors whereas monitors will display WAAAY more. Various other factors can also affect the quality of any printed image including the printer settings, paper, and also the ink used.

Sorry I can't offer a solution but I think you would probably be wasting your time calibrating the Mac screen.

Hope you get sorted.

Thanks I have got a really good printer though.. I just keep reading that photographers have struggled for years getting colours to match. I’m going to see if I can calibrate the printer instead of messing with the Mac.

That would be where I would start but a good test would be to get one of your images printed at a commercial photo lab like Boots etc. That should at least confirm if the issue is with your monitor or the printer.
