Hi people,
does anyone else have a Help to Buy ISA at the moment?
Santander are reducing my interest from 2.75% to 0.75% on 03 Aug 20. So, looking for a new home for my £££.

You can't get Help to Buy ISA's anymore, if you qualify you may be able to transfer some of your money to a LISA, otherwise you might be stuck with your current provider. If you move the money elsewhere you'll lose the government 25% bonus - which may well be bigger than the loss in interest of leaving it were it is.

Disclaimer - above is based on my "lay persons" understanding, certainly not financial advice!!

@PhilE, you can't open a new HTB ISA now, but you can transfer an existing account that was opened before the December 2019 cut off point.

My Halifax one is 2.25% but I don't know if that applies to transfers or just existing accounts.

@Karonher, Halifax HTB isa is 1.7% at the moment. My only concern is that Halifax say you need to go to a branch when the time comes to close the ISA.

It must just be due to mine being an ongoing account. Sorry if I have missed something but what would be the problem going to the branch - distance, travel issues?

I have a LISA with HL. Its very good in my opinion, biggest downfall of a LISA is the linits around house prices and it seems a bit complex to use it as a part of a deposit on a house
