Did it last year and failed as I started a new job so lost all writing time. This year i've just left that job and so have time back. Haven't done any planning and I don't have an idea for a novel (thought of a great one last night whilst walking home from the pub but can't remember what it was).

I started one last year.

Didn't get past week 1.

This year I will finish it.

I'm planning to take part! I try every year, and the most I've done is around 22,000, though for the last four years I was moving/doing a degree! Looking forward to really trying this year though

Jesus! 22,000 words!! That's more than the dissertation I did at Uni lol

Just had a look to see how I got on last year - 33898 words! I really don't remember writing that much.

I honestly have only just heard of this.

It's amazing to see people write so much, I assume it's done in a cathartic way and not a I HAVE TO WRITE 50,000 WORDS BY WEDNESDAY type one!

You are suppposed to think about it being more like 1700 words a day.

Managable chunks.
