@Lorna I know how you feel, i do exactly the same. Taking abit of time to give as good a response to hopefully the like my answer, hence round about the hour mark as i try to back up my answers. Also they switched me to doing it on my mobile only after the first day.

Are you also working on mobile only now? Writing fast on mobile takes abit of getting used to with the responses i give. Delighted with the good income stream though.

Yeah they switched me to mobile after "day 1" too. "Day 1" as it crashed only 3 adverts in so wasn't able to complete.

I'm the same, I do prefer the conventional method of typing, probably just because of what I'm used to with previous work etc. I must say that the mobile is a lot more convenient though and I am getting used to it. I think yesterday was my quickest yet-about 80 minutes, so I am getting there.

I think once I have had my first pay day from them I will feel more on track.

Is it just Appen you work for? I think I am going to apply for Lionbridge as it is a minimum of 10 hours with them and I am hoping to get to a point where I don't return to 'proper work' for a while.

Well, this is infuriating. Having apparently been accepted into the Social Media Evaluation project a week ago I completed the forms and submitted them as requested at the beginning of this week. My "go live" date was supposed to be yesterday but when I access the dashboard on Appen the status of the application still says "hidden". I've sent several web queries but had a response to none so far and can find no way of contacting Appen directly (I did find one UK number but this was clearly for the "front of house" side of things, ie corporate clients, etc). I've tried all sorts of username/password combinations in the different Appen sites I can find to no avail...

Is there anything I can do, anyone I can contact to discuss this? I've only been able to find UK numbers for the "front of house" side of things and no contact options for contractors. Anybody got an "in" here? A name/number/email of a helpful Appen employee? Anything?!

I understand them keeping communication to a minimum during the early stages of the application process due to volume of applications, etc, but surely once you've been accepted there should be some kind of support for trainees/contractors?

The main thing when completing the ads is to remember what each of the terms is asking for, think i should get quicker from here as i get used to it.
I also think mobile is quite convenient as you dont have to be in front of your computer, well done on the 80 minutes (nothing wrong with that).

Can't wait for the payday at the end of the month, with appen and mainly prolific it boosts me back up to full time wages considering i was cut from 5 days to 2 days work in real life as such lol ;)

I only work for appen at this time, applied for leapforce but never heard back and never tried for lionbridge as of yet.

My only problem in life is i need a full time job again for increasing the probability of getting a mortgage with income i can prove consistently. Hey ho back to work! :D

Only contact you receive is via emails. When i was accepted they sent my date via email and then it postponded for a couple of days.

I received an email saying congratulations and welcome to the project, which provided details of start date, including to completing setup for starting work, then accept the statement of work. This was followed by a reminder email days before starting. Does this sound familiar, just working out what stage your at. If you have not received a welcome to the project email you application may still be geting processed. Thanks.

The email notification I received was titled "Project Invitation"and included a link to the "Master Service Agreement" which I followed, completed and submitted. I've heard nothing from them since and the date they stated the project would start on the email was Wednesday 26th July.

When I had a couple of issues I emailed back directly to the first person who had initially emailed me with the invitation to see if I qualified. After waiting a day and hearing nothing (patience isn't my strong point ) I then resent it the next day to the Falcon ads email address copying in the original. I got a reply the next morning.

To be honest I don't even know where the dashboard showing which jobs you have applied for is anymore! I had the same problem a few weeks ago, wasn't able to log in and was saying my email address had never been registered. Completely agree, totally infuriating.

Everything does seem a little more confusing and difficult than it needs to be to get going. I feel the process needs streamlining, the dashboards combining and the whole welcome/getting off the ground emails more simple and easier to understand than they are. Just a generic, simple template for each step. I'm sure the most intelligent/tech savvy person would find the overall process a little confusing and make them feel a bit stupid.

Never mind social media evaluation, I think I may put myself forward to sort out their processes.

If you have the email address you used handy I'd appreciate that (they no doubt have a few as well so knowing which one you had success with would be a start!). I found the dashboard by logging in with Facebook, rather than a username/password combo on one of their login pages - I'll update once I figure out which one!

I had to login to the site - https://global.appen.com/ as shown in the email, setup some things including terms. It took a few days but the site showed updated.

Received some more instructions later.

Hope this helps! My tip would be to re-read the email, making sure each step is completed and see what the website link is for completing your agreement.

I've already submitted the agreement and as a result the link is no longer valid. I didn't receive any of the further instructions you seem to have, though, so I'm guessing my application's stuck at a point before that - I've certainly never set up a Payoneer account, for example. I've now forwarded my query via the email addresses Lorna gave me so will hopefully hear something back soon. Cheers for that - at least I now know I'm a stage or two away from starting.

While I remember, though - I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that your details on Facebook need to match your payment details for one of these companies (not sure if Appen/Lionbridge/Leapforce), is that the case? I use an abbreviated version of my name on there which uses a shortened nickname as my first name and how my name would look if written phonetically as my surname. Will this be an issue and should I think about changing my Facebook name to my full, real name (ugh!) now that I have applications in progress (I hope!)?

Has anyone else that's recently been accepted to the Crowdsourcing just seeing "No hittaps available" every time they log in?
Hi, @FerrisBueller :) I've just got the Crowdsourcing too but been busy setting my computer up so only logged into the page today. It says 'No hittaps available' for me too.

The email I got from Appen did say that they would notify me by email when tasks become available (they have no control over how often the client loads them) but that I should also check the page regularly myself.

I had to login to the site - https://global.appen.com/ as shown in the email, setup my payoneer account, which they accepted and the terms, also accepted. It took a few days but the site showed updated.

Within my email is it stated something like this, further instructions on how to begin production will be sent to you by your project manager after your SoW has been acknowledged.

Hope this helps! My tip would be to re-read the email, making sure each step is completed and see what the website link is for completing your agreement.

So, I received another invite a couple of hours ago and submitted the agreement immediately this time. Also replied to the email directly asking if there's anything else I need to do. All quiet so far, fingers crossed, tho!

Hopefully it will go through okay for you this time @deadfool :). I have said before that the different Appen urls can be VERY confusing - global.appen, talent-appen and appenonline at least. Is it any wonder that no-one can find out how to find their accounts.

I have just been accepted for the Crowdsourcing and have to go through global.appen. I have done a Voice Data Collection task through appenonline and think I first applied or registered via talent-appen, ha ha!

Check your emails as quite a lot of the emails from them say 'do not reply to this email' at the very bottom (despite having a reply option?). You need to find ones (from an individual) that do not say this.
I have had a couple of queries and managed to email the people who sent them. They both replied a day or two later.
I originally submitted a 'ticket' about one of the queries on the 8th July via my dashboard, which was marked by them as Urgent or similar - it still hasn't been dealt with.

Cheers man, but still waiting here - I did get a reply from someone at the Falcon Ads team saying they would forward my query to their staffing team a few days ago but still absolutely nothing else. Just hoping the end result is worth all this faff!
