These companies are a law unto themselves in how they work outside of the Web Search Evaluator stuff I would say.

As for Lionbridge, they clearly have more potential workers than they do spaces at the moment which is surprising as I thought they had a 'here is 11 months work and then you are booted off' policy!
It is a bit demoralising to be honest... I can understand they have more applicants than openings, but don't waste our time asking us to sign paperwork, complete questionnaires, giving us exam dates and preventing us from applying for other positions only to withdraw us from the exam and "good luck!". I mean, sure that is more work for them too?

Anyway, I have now gone back to not having anything with either Appen or Lionbridge so I will keep trying.

Hi guys,

I am looking to sign up to Appen (although the rhetoric is currently a bit negative here about it) and was after some help.

At signup they ask for a CV or Business Profile. May I ask what they mean by Business Profile?

Thanks

Don't think I'm going to bother with them anymore - only did a couple of phone conversation jobs with them anyway but they seem to have gone downhill from what I have been reading on here :(

Has anyone been offered/applied for the Crescent project? I can't see whether it's a one-off thing or an ongoing one ...?

Another day, another email from Appen about the voice recordings. They've been made aware that the transcription bit is taking longer than expected and suggest using the voice to text function available in phones to speed things up. IF you do the task there's better paying tasks coming and you'll be first in line, honest!
There's still no way I'm doing it. I resent that I spent any time on the task.

That's exactly what I ended up doing. Pasting in the 'Hey ******' bit and then using voice.
There was so much to correct that it took longer often and the whole thing took me somewhere between 7-8 hours!

Hi there, I have received an email saying I have been invited to the Carmel EN-UK Collection task with details about what the task entails but no information on how to access it ... did you have a similar thing?

Yes I had to wait till the tasks opened - I got sent an email when they were opened but I remember some tasks closed early so you will have to be quick - basically it was a bit like the speech one - but a lot quicker as all I needed to do was type different answers. I got paid $35 which took around 2 1/2 hours to do.

I've been working for Appen since February on the same project & really happy with it. Takes less than an hour a day. Just going through the qualification process for another project so fingers crossed on that.
It's just a waiting game I'm afraid

Ah ... OK .. I got the email to say I was "in" and logged into the Appen portal straight away - however the status of the task is still "In Progress" and not "Work This"? I have sent a reply to their email - but as yet haven't had any response ... I will wait and see. Sounds easier than the Fletcher task though :)

Good luck! I was in the same situation a month ago until eventually they emailed again to say that the task was now full. I really don't understand how they work! lol

I've done my first survey on it - what happens now? It says in the guidelines that I don't need to do anything to be paid for (I'm already set up on Payoneer etc) but I keep getting emails asking me to do the survey?
