I just got an invitation to apply for a transcription role. It’s not the blue thing but looks like a generic role off the Appen website. When I logged in and checked my dashboard all the past jobs I’ve applied for (social media/website evaluator) have gone. Says the role is specific to welsh/Irish/northern English. We might be in here @Knopfler !!
Ive been asked to do the test, which ive already done, so I’ll see what happens later on when I’ve got the kids to bed. I’m certain it won’t be straightforwardYes, got the email too and came on here to check if you had @Lizziew24 I wasn't sure whether it was the Blue one that I had already applied for, done the test and NOT heard anything from, YET as per usual!
I've applied for it via the email and it said my application was successful but also that I was already subscribed to it, or whatever, so not sure what is what (as usual with Appen, ha ha!)
Good luck. I hope it is more than £6 an hour though or else not worth applying if there are conversion fees etc. on any payments
That’s a good point actually....I did the transcription one last night and passed, but I have done that before. Didn’t check the spelling one, although ive done that before too!! I’ll have a look now. But as you say, it’ll be tomorrow now...That's great news @Lizziew24 . Was it the UK Spelling Test you had to do? I got the email today asking me to do the spelling test and tick the Transcription box, BOTH of which were already done and on my account since July last year , so I just replied that they were already completed, and waiting to hear back again now.
Trouble is I'm not an early bird, so with the time difference will probably be tomorrow now at least.
I had one of those a couple of months ago, it was only 500 though and got paid $15US so about £11 it was, took a while to pay me though but they did eventually. Haven't had anything else yet.Anyone on here done any work for Appen at all?
Done work with them in the past and always got paid.
Got an email this morning from them about doing some transcriber work
The task involves recording 1801 very short phrases into an online app in quick succession– using a smartphone, or a laptop/desktop computer with microphone. Recording the utterances should take approximately 3 hours.
You will be paid $54 AUD (£29.3 at current exchange rates) if you complete the task successfully before the specified deadline.
Reading out 1801 words.....fun times eh
I've only just got over having to say OK GOOGLE endlessly you know lolI had one of those a couple of months ago, it was only 500 though and got paid $15US so about £11 it was, took a while to pay me though but they did eventually. Haven't had anything else yet.
@Knopfler you are joking!!!! Can’t believe that. I’ve not heard a peep. There’s a social media evaluator job on Lionbridge...?Getting REALLY pee'd off with Appen now. Got the initial Transcription email invite just after midnight yesterday and didn't see it until around 11am.
Was told to take the spelling test and reply to the email when done as "We are looking forward to having you in this project!"
Emailed back straightaway to confirm that I had already done the spelling test last year and it is on my Appen account Qualifications section.
Got a response today (1 day later) saying that this job is now full .............................. grrrrrr
Not sure whether I can be arsed to apply for any future ones - will see when I have stopped spitting feathers!
Ha ha, I didn't have to say that, just lots of other different promptsI've only just got over having to say OK GOOGLE endlessly you know lol
