I decided to give this a go, just did my second batch, was ok, hopefully they pay up on time.

I just did my first. So simple doing it by the app I really liked it.

When did you get your second batch? Did you receive another email or did you somehow find it yourself/just use the same pin again?

This has prompted me to bring my appen details up to date and pay more attention to my email inbox. Lost out on some lucrative opportunities in the last few months while my eye was off the pot!

Didn't know about the leapforce acquisition though! Crikey :)

It just appered on appen global. I also gad another email that loiked like the first. The second batch was easier as it tells you what to speak. I struggled a bit on the first.

Seems like they increased the pay of the speech task, I kept getting emails about the different pays. Seems like a good earner, but I missed the deadline which was 22nd :( I should check my emails more often

I’m having no luck with these guys... everything got sorted out, the project showed up, but I can’t log in to AMR for recording, since my pin doesn’t work. Raised a help desk ticket on Wednesday but heard nothing back.

Did your email have a deadline date? My pin didn't work either, and I realised that I passed my deadline date. They also stated that once the 160 people had finished, they will stop the project.

The voice project turned out to be more worthwhile than I expected. I did both halves of the project, scripted and unscripted. The pay rate was a bit weird on global, it looked like $14.5 US for each half but I've just been paid and apparently it was the second number, $24.08. $48.16, don't mind if I do! I sped through the scripted in about an hour so it worked out almost £17/hr.

So I applied for a few jobs with Appen, was wondering how long it took for people to be given jobs?
In my experience with Appen, Lionbridge and Leapforce - none of them can offer you reliable employment. They will send you emails promising roles but then then they rarely or never re-contact you with further details. If you do get onto a project it can end suddenly.

I would look at other options like the phone apps or Matched Betting as a means to generate a more stable income.

Sounds like some people have been unlucky getting on projects recently, but have to say my experience of leapforce at least has only been positive. I've been on one project with them for 2 years and it's been a total game changer for my online earning. I've recently started a second project with them and that has again increased my online earnings significantly through being mobile based rather than needing the laptop. Personally I think they're worth persevering with to get on a project.

yeah I echo what @Cclaire is saying here.

I applied to Leapforce to do Web Search Evaluator work

Did the exams

Started working

got a good 2+ years out of them before they let me go but generally everything was smooth as butter

I applied ages ago for both Appen and Leapforce. Never heard a thing from Appen but Leapfrog had sent me terms to accept and then I tried to qualify for a project. My application sat for 60 days before dropping off so I have applied again. Then out of the blue I received an email from Appen yesterday asking me some details about my Facebook account and messenger account. I replied and today they have emailed me offering me a position. This couldn't have come at a better time if I am honest, as today I have received my last student loan payment until September, and I haven't been able to find suitable employment (I have 2 young kids). The position they have offered is one hour a day, for a minimum of five days a week, although it states that you are allowed to do 7, which I intend to. Anyway, anyone who has been waiting ages don't give up all hope. It seems they will get to you eventually.
Does anyone know if you are able to build up your hours to more than one a day?

I have the invite too :) Not sure if you can build the hours up, I think it might be 7 max. I have found some music transcription work, so that's perfect and keeping me ticking over. Appen is a bonus. Took a few months but got there in the end didn't we

Where have you got this music transcription work from and how much does it pay?

I am not allowed to say because of an NDA. But am sure I can send through email? At the moment they aren't looking for English language, I got in there at the right time. It's not amazing pay, between £3.80-4.80 a song, but as it's assisted transcription the lyrics are usually there and I just edit them, also timestamping them to the music. I love it!

Congratulations. I was so happy to get the invite. Even if the 7 hours can't be built on it means that I don't have to sign on over the summer and that means a lot to me.
